Castillo
Hello, So, today I wanted to replace entire map to add snow textures, but when I did so, the buildings become invisible. The amount of textures I replaced: 1114. I tried replacing 400 and the problem did not occur, so I take it that there is some sort of limit? Video explaining the problem: Is there anything that can be done? or is just impossible to replace this amount of textures? Link to comment
N1kS
Try 200, please. Heard about this number. Link to comment
MTA Team botder Posted November 21, 2014 MTA Team Share Posted November 21, 2014 Do you have nVidia or AMD? Link to comment
Gallardo9944
Have you tried to make them load slower? Make it change 10-15 textures a second, so you can track where it fails. Link to comment
Castillo
Do you have nVidia or AMD? AMD HD 7850 2GB GDDR5 @Gallardo: Right now, I made it load 1 texture every 50 milliseconds, but I really doubt the speed is the problem, it seems to be more like a MTA limit. Link to comment
AJXB
I'm no experience is such things, but I assume it's a GTA problem, see this problem happened to me because of MTA:SA storage limit, that's what I assume. Offtopic: what's your steam ID? Link to comment
Dealman
I doubt it's the GPU that is at fault, but I've got a GTX 780 if you'd want me to check it out - see if we both get the same result. But it does indeed seem like a limit, can't you try to find when it occurs? Play around with the number of executions. Link to comment
FuriouZ
Do you used shaders or .txd files ? Link to comment
MTA Team botder Posted November 21, 2014 MTA Team Share Posted November 21, 2014 Which driver version do you use? I had problems with newer drivers in MTA and that problem may affect you now. Link to comment
Castillo
Do you used shaders or .txd files ? TXD files, I considered using shaders, but I'm not really sure how efficient will it be, and the impact on the player FPS. @Necktrox: AMD Catalyst driver 14.9. Link to comment
vx89
offtopic: what application that popup in your right bottom corner belongs to? Btw, an implementation using shader is this one (made by ccw): https://community.multitheftauto.com/in ... ls&id=3361 Link to comment
Castillo
No offense, but I'm looking for a fix on my issue, not a resource to use. And the application is Steam. Link to comment
Bonsai
I would try to split it on multiple resources. Might be some kinda limit. Could be anything else tho. Link to comment
Castillo
The limit is not per resource, it's a global limit it seems, when it goes over 400 textures, the bug shows up. Link to comment
qaisjp
Blue isn't built for mass retexturing, just wait for Eir. Total conversions mods only work with Eir (I played Vice City in the air above San Andreas on Eir). I don't understand why you'd want to retexture everything though... you can't expect more than 75% of your player base to play on your server (and download textures - even if it's got a download manager) with the amount of lag introduced by this. My advice: just use the shader that vx89 kindly linked to you. Link to comment
Feche1320
If I remember correctly when my little brother modded his entire GTA SA game he was having a similar issue, objects appeared as you move or they had only LOD lodaded. In my opinion, a GTA bug. Link to comment
