Soapurb
0.3 is unplayable. I was just in a game where i shot everywhere on the other guys bodies, in the imidiate radius, below feet, to left, to right, above head, then i traced the radius with machine guns. Then I tried firing randomly, everywhere. I could not scratch a single person, they were all invincible, yet they could fire just a little to the left of me and hit every time, when i tired that, it didn't work. Link to comment
Posty
Its called your new and you dont know how to aim. You know, I hate when you people complain about these versions. How about you try and go play GTA3:MTA 0.3b and tell me how that is. 0.3 is very playable, and instead complaining, you should be thanking the MTA team for creating this on their free time in the first place. Guest
0.3 ver is playable but i agree that people wants to test 0.4v. When ot will be finished? Link to comment
orappa
There are hundreds of people playing MTA at the moment - if it was "unplayable", do you think they'd bother? Many people seem to forget that MTA is a beta. GTA isn't even designed for multiplayer so the fact that it even works is amazing. Also, MTA is not like other multiplayer games because a large amount of processing is done on the clients' PCs, rather than the server. This is the cause of many of the problems with MTA such as the issues you described, and it also makes cheating easier. There are lots of factors affecting your problem, such as your connection speed, your opponent's connection speed, the server's connection speed, you and your opponents' PC speeds, etc. Users with slow connections are difficult to kill because it takes a long time for the packet from your machine saying that you're shooting them to reach them. In the meantime, they've been travelling at normal speed on their machine and so are no longer there when your packets reach them, despite the fact that the bullets on your machine hit them instantly. [KFC]KungFu
If this game was unplayable or pure luck the same ppl would always kill. I have taken countless ppl like you aside and showed them how to kill and they have become the best the game has. That thread that they asked you to read... How to actually inflict damage... That was written by Utopia when he first started playing. Since then he has become maybe the most deadly person in MTA. Whole gangs have refused to fight my gang if he was playing. You can learn the right way to fight and become deadly Link to comment
StAnToN
well i remembver reasing a while back about the improved aiming system that is "hopefully" ijmplemented on the next version of mta (0.4) so i cant wait!!! Link to comment
OpiuM.
i am really tired of 0.3, sorry to say it....but i get owned by 56kers....if the 0.4 is going to be faster, or god sakes relese it.....a 56ker pwns me DAMN YOU SUPERFAST DSL.....DAMN YOU!!!! Link to comment
orappa
I doubt 0.4 would make much difference in that respect. It's because MTA is a client-side mod. Link to comment
StAnToN
but if you rread past news archives you will see that they have typed that they will be improving the aiming system Link to comment
orappa
but if you rread past news archives you will see that they have typed that they will be improving the aiming system Yeah, but that doesn't stop the problems caused by people with slow connections. Link to comment
Shib
well my estimation is end of this month. And posty is right that the MTA team didn't have to do this but they did for our fun. And theirs.. stop complaining, play the game and wait like the rest of us Link to comment
StAnToN
yep i have been waiting since the last release (6 months) for mta 0.4 and i think i have been quite patient but i cant take it anymore argh.................................................... Link to comment
Guest
I agree, 0.4 probably won't make a difference. I mean it might be a little more smooth, but there will still be lag and people having problems with aiming. Half the time it's just noobs that shot in every direction. and they think they're shooting the other players but they not. Link to comment
Soapurb
I thaught the Idea was NOT to shoot the players tho? Just near them because of sync? Anyways, slow connections aside these problems should be significantly improved in 0.4 (well obviously thats the POINT of 0.4) Oh well, I myself am on ADSL, and it does peeve me a bit that people who have slower connections have an advantage, but hey, it's time the 56kers got a game where they have an advantage, isn't it? Those poor guys get owned in everything else... Link to comment

Soapurb
It's also be nice if Rockstar made SA more mod-friendly. the MTA team works hard on MTA, but the simple fact is GTA3 and VC were not really made to be modded, especially multiplayer, which I can imagine makes it very hard for them, I really hope rockstar fixes this, mods are what make games last. Shib
lol i have been playin MTA since it started, MTA:VC that is. And i beeen waiting since i think it was december since 0.3 came out. But hey let the MTA team do their job when they want to and just be patient like me stanton and the rest who are. It's free!! Link to comment
StAnToN
same here i have been playing since mtavc 0.1!!! Link to comment
Guest
If u want a shooter then buy a game like Far cry which has online multiplayer which is only available to ADSL users . I can't w8 until this smoothness factor is put into play personally and i do agree the aiming is awful and so damn frustrating at times grrrr. I hope i don't have to pay online subscription for Far cry?!? I haven't bought it i don't know Link to comment
Soapurb
lol, online subscriptions are only for Massively Multiplayer games, because of the massive bandwidth needed to support thousands of players on one server. As for far cry the single player is fun, but I wouldn't go and purchase it if your looking for a good Multiplayer experience, because Far Cry's multiplayer is utterly PATHETIC. If you want multiplayer go for something like Call Of duty, Halo, or Battlefield (either one they are pretty much the same, I'd say 1942 because it has the best mods so far). Link to comment
orappa
One question I have is: following the release of MTA 0.4, how long is it likely to be before ASE updates their filters? Would you send them the info a few days before release, or after the release? The reason I ask is that everyone will want to play it the moment it is released, and so the officials are likely to be full very quickly and it would be difficult to find a game without using ASE. (Sorry, I've just realised just how off-topic that post was) Link to comment
