linux server admin support

Thats a good idea, one that im surprised nobody has mentioned before. Quite how difficult it would be is another matter but we shall certainly look into it.

I was thinking about this, why not enable the server itself to accept commands directly from the terminal?

Something like this:

That can be done with mtama, and has been on many servers for quite a while now. But that doesnt solve the problem for linux admins. I suspect rewriting the server and the client to include something like that would be a bigger job than compiling a linux admin tool. Also bear in mind most admin will want to administrate from outside the game, not just whilst playing

i think the reason that nobody mentioned a linux admin tool before, is because it's so obvious a tool, we figured there was a specific reason that you didnt do it already.

sorry to mention this if it has already been mentioned: tbot has made a tool to do this and it is somewhere under "add-ons" in mta general I think. But I'm not sure whether it's released or not.
