Guest
Hello, are there any System Requirements for a Server? I want to host a Server on my next LAN! Do you think a P3-500,128MBRam is enough for an 26player Server? Thanks, Florian Link to comment
Guest
the only real way to find out is to test it... Link to comment
orappa
I'm not sure if a 500MHz machine with 128MB RAM will be able to handle it. It might manage to run it adequately if it's dedicated (i.e. you don't play MTA on the hosting machine), but I very much doubt that it will be able to handle the full 26 players. Link to comment
Si|ent
That should handle it fine, servers take very little cpu but a lot of bandwidth. Weve known servers to run on p-133's Link to comment
eAi
Remember the bandwidth limitation is often more of a problem than the hardware limits... eAi Link to comment
orappa
Well, I've never hosted a dedicated server before, so upgrading my PC (the server) has always made a difference in terms of client speed. Link to comment
Guest
I'll just try it, and post what i find out Traffic should be no Problem, 100/1000Mbit to the Backbone should be enough Currently im running 2 Servers on a VirtualShared Maschine with one of the best Pings ^^ Link to comment

MTA Team Blokker_1999 Posted June 13, 2004 MTA Team Share Posted June 13, 2004 mta servers take verry litle cpu power but require a lot of bandwith. The reason we use so litle cpu power compared to a HL/Q3/... server is because almost no serverside calculations happen. Almost everything happens clientside. Link to comment
Black Dragon
and thats the reason there are so many cheaters out there.. Link to comment
Guest
The Server: 4x Intel Xeon 2,4Ghz, 6GB Ram, 6,4Gbit But its an shared server, i dont know how many people are using the server too and how much resources i'm allowed to have! But i dont have much traffic free, so my server is only online when we want to play.. so i wasn't able to test is with many players on it! Link to comment
