Newbie Needs Help

Hello all my name is saad incase u didnt notice

i want to start programing with mta's (LUA) but dont know where to start (i have an samp server ( this is not a lie) )

and i want to start an MTA server so i just need links so are there any tutorials in the forums not the wiki please

Saad_ there is a fledgling tutorial section here but there isn't a whole lot of content there yet, it was only set up recently. Even though you may not like it, the Wiki is by far your best resource of information.

If you know nothing about lua just use the manual: http://www.lua.org/pil/index.html

Why do you hate it, it's where most of the scripters learned from.

I personally learned from community, seeing the Lua code, it was pretty easy to understand as I had previous languages knowledge, but if you don't want the wiki, you should learn in lua.org which provides good information too.

Try downloading some resources from https://community.multitheftauto.com/ and edit some values and see how it effects the way the script works. Over time you can learn from this.

The wiki is a good source of information, as like others have said, I am another who didnt know much about scripting until I did a few practicals and played with some of the resources. Feel free to drop into the official #mta.scripting irc channel if you ever need any assistance.

Saad_ sounds so Mate_, anyway. I suggest you start checking tutorials or, start checking other scripts so you can have an idea while you start a new one. That's the way I'm learning, I think the Wiki doesn't describe the most important things you need for scripting, or I don't understand them.
