H!tman Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 how to create search light like in area 69? like this in the image: and by the way what is the benefit from the fps limiter in the MTA server? can it make the connection to the server better(no ping lag and more players)?
MTA Team qaisjp Posted November 19, 2011 MTA Team Posted November 19, 2011 [1] = Good question, I would also like to know. [2] = FPS Limiter, it is mainly used in competitive servers (race, dm). It limits the max FPS a player can have, the higher the FPS the more faster the person moves on land (and slower on water, afaik thats a bug). In races, people with 30 FPS would be slower than people with 70 FPS, even if they had the same car and the same timing. FPS Limiter limits the max fps
myonlake Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 This function has not been added in Multi Theft Auto yet, but I hope they'll add it as soon as possible
Oz. Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 You could probably do it with a custom object using a fading alpha, so long as you replaced an object with the correct parameter flags. There may or may not already be an object for it though.
H!tman Posted November 19, 2011 Author Posted November 19, 2011 it's not object this search light like in the LAPD chopper and make light on the ground it's not just an object look at this image:
12p Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Maybe creating many corona markers you can get an effect like that.
12p Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Don't be so offensive and say "WRONG!" like that. I just said MAYBE it can be done that way. Another idea; shaders plus custom object.
MTA Team qaisjp Posted November 19, 2011 MTA Team Posted November 19, 2011 shaders + custom obj = YES
Castillo Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 What do you mean? you can create your own shaders with the MTA functions.
H!tman Posted November 19, 2011 Author Posted November 19, 2011 does the shaders like in high games like Call of duty and battlefield? if not, can you give me simple info about it? Edit: is the shaders like adding graphics?
12p Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 there is no shaders in the game! Man, maybe GTA used another way. But it can be done via shaders and custom objects. PD. It's "there ARE no shaders". PD2. I'm starting to dislike your exclamations lol does the shaders like in high games like Call of duty and battlefield?if not, can you give me simple info about it? Edit: is the shaders like adding graphics? Shaders are used in Pixel Shader and Vertex Shader engines. Obviously it is being used by many games. Here are some shader powers:
H!tman Posted November 19, 2011 Author Posted November 19, 2011 it add graphics but can it add search light?
Faw[Ful] Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 You can make it only with custom object 1) make the beam thing with an alpha mask texture 2) attach a corona light to the main object on the spot position (can be a gta light FX in 3ds max) 3) attach another corona light to the main object to create the ground light effect. (It need to be a gta light FX. Give a small size to the light = we d'ont see the corona thing but we see the light ground effect) 4) Replace this with a san andreas object that use the FLAG alpha 1 or 2 because MTA cant read IDE FLAG.
NotAvailable Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Just like what benox said. Attach the light to the object and make the object move. EDIT: Add a colshape/corona/marker to it to detect player
H!tman Posted November 20, 2011 Author Posted November 20, 2011 but some players will have low fps if the shaders are on. what i mean that light is exist in the game (like LAPD helicopter) but did MTA developers added functions to make that light?
Gtagasje Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 I think no, if it was, the good scripters would have post the function..
