Guest Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 I have just installed MTA 0.2. But when I try to join a game, it thinks I still have 0.1, so they wont let me in. It's as if everything from VC 0.2 is installed, but it thinks its 0.1/1.1 so it says you cant enter 0.2 games. I tried: Restarting my pc First uninstaslling MTA1 then installing MTA2 Downloading MTA2 from another server Installing in a different directory Non of the above have worked. If someone thinks he can help, please do.
MasterEvilAce Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 1) perhaps you're reading the error message wrong, and it says you don't have .1? maybe you're trying to join a .1 server? 2) don't use shortcuts, to test. use windows explorer / my computer and navigate to MTA directly, to make sure you're running .2 of the client
ijsf Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 You're probably trying to join a MTA:VC 0.1 server. Mind that you can't connect to a MTA:VC 0.1 server with the 0.2 client.
Guest Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 No. Most definetely not. I only clicked on servers wich explained in their server names that they were 0.2.0 servers. Also, when you open the MTA window, I can only select version 1.0 and 1.1
me Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 by 1.0 and 1.1, it means GTA:VC version 1.0/1.1... not MTA's version.
Guest Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 frankly, I don't care. Sorry to be so rude, but I just want to know how to fix this.
ijsf Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 Try to join another server or try reinstalling VC/MTA
Cray Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 Yeah, you must be trying 0.1 Servers or using the 0.1 Client.
Guest Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 I found out what the problem was. MY ASE wasn't updated for MTA 2. But now that I fixed it, the next problem showed up. Now I can succesfully join a server, but when I click on new game in Vice city, it just starts a new game. It doesnt do anything with MTA. And please don't just reply like 'You joined the wrong server' or 'try reinstalling this or that'. I tried those things over and over.

You mean you start up Vice City and start a new game? In 0.2, you have to click "start game" button just under "disconnect" in the MTA client.
