You get 1 point for killing people. If you get killed, someone have to use medics on you. It would take about 5 seconds to get you alive again. The guy who helps you get 5 points. The 5 points is because of helping, and because of he's brave action when he could have been killed. - - - -NoseBreaker Link to comment

trx Posted March 28, 2003 Share Posted March 28, 2003 Why not give them the option? I play Wolfenstein, and I'm always (well almost) an allied medic. The medic can revive shot down players, but not exploded ones =( When Players are shot down, they can wait for a medic or choose to respawn. Because I really like being a medic in RTCW, I have coded something similar for GTA3. It works as follows: (lol) Someone got shot (oh really?) The Medic goes there. The medic gets a special item (uh... the remote control explosives thingie) by pressing space bar. He presses fire and waits for the blue text_status bar to fill (about 3-4 secs) And hurrah! the teammember is alive again, hurt (75% Hp's), but alive and on the spot. The medic has to be close for it to work. I kinda thought that would be sweet. So if you see a guy dressed in green with a st00pid green hat carrrying an Uzi walking in LC someday, that would be me. Mr.Bill Posted March 29, 2003 Share Posted March 29, 2003 lol medics is a good idea, and about hopital respawn there's one per map, and most are EASILY guardable like stauntin for instance, its covered by a road that can EASILY be surrounded by a team, I'm guessing people wuodl spanw kill there, unless you could get out all around the building... xerox Posted March 29, 2003 Share Posted March 29, 2003 lol - medic with an uzi? - so much for the impartial red cross =) If you had the option wether to respawn of wair that would be cool, cause if you waited you could possibly keep your weapon (if it wasnt already picked up) one thing, would you know how far away the medic was? - cause you cant tell them to go revive you can ya =) Link to comment
Prostheus Posted March 29, 2003 Share Posted March 29, 2003 How about this: If it's a team game, all teams start out at certain "home bases" (not the standard GTA3 home bases though, although can be). These bases are picked out of a list of base locations (which must be reasonably large, around 64 of them or so, so there's a fair amount of randomness). If the other team figures out where the base is, the base can be "moved" somehow (?). Not sure whether it should take time to move the base, or if after discovery it gets moved automatically after say 10-20 minutes (so the enemy can't lock in the other teams forever). How's that? trx Posted March 29, 2003 Share Posted March 29, 2003 I suppose the medic could be seen by teammembers as a green dot, and wounded teammembers as a red dot or something. It doesn't matter much since in wolfenstein I also never know where to go, I just stick with a small group or a Luitenant. If they die or get wounded, I can heal or revive them. It really adds something special to the gameplay for me. The drawback of a medic is the low ammo (1 clip Uzi, 3 clips Colt and a grenade. But the advantage is a slow life regeneration. In wolfenstein, ammo can be given to you by a luitenant. That's probably not a good idea for GTA3, so i'm not sure as how to balance the medic's weapons. Link to comment

After that, have to use my knife, or the grenade I always forget about. So how would this sound? - Increased stamina (possibly infinite?) - Increased Hitpoints 110% - Ability to heal other players for 30 Hitpoints per healthpack - Ability to revive killed players if not dismembered - A Baseball bat? - 4-6 Clips Colt - 1-2 Clips Uzi - 1-2 Grenades - Can only use initial weapontype - Can only drive an Ambulance (muhahaaa LOL) naaah Link to comment

But unless we know what kind of limitations we're facing, we just have to use imagination as to what would suit this... Anyway, changing the "center of the body" should improve handling anyway, so then just a slight speed boost perhaps. Slothman Posted April 3, 2003 Share Posted April 3, 2003 how about as soon as you die, a npc medic has to revive you so you can keep playing. it would give real incentive to keep alive if you have to wait for a medic to show up. of course, there would have to be a way to keep people from killing the medics, and keeping you dead. maybe a penalty, or just make em invincible. without a little wait for a respawn, people would just kamikazi eachother constantly, and no one would get awy from the spawn point.
