Salem
What units did they use in the whole world map?? According to sizes of any objects J deduced that must be about: 1 unit ~ 0.6-0.7 meter (SI). Hasn't found any unit similar to this eqalization (not yards, milimiles, inches). J suppose this must be some american or english measuring system. Anybody knows it? J'm very interested. 50p
Every game has different units system, not necessarily real world units. To me, GTA uses meters (1u = 1m). That's also what I used in speedometer resource. Edited May 8, 2010 by Guest Link to comment
robhol
Just to nitpick a little; a meter isn't really accurate. I once got the idea of measuring an in-game building and comparing the measurements with those of the building's real-life equivalent (as tons of SA is based on real-life places) but the thing is that R* might not have made it "to scale", and then the whole idea goes out the window. As I understand it, though, the "1m rule" is based on the assumption that CJ is about 2 units, and that he'd be 2m in real life. That's a lot of guesswork and approximation. On one hand it's probably possible to make closer guesses than that, on the other hand it might not be worth it anyway, since it can be a bit inconsistent in the game itself. Link to comment
Salem
lol CJ don't look like a man who is 2m tall. For me 1unit = 3 inches. Most objects in GTA world is well scaled in this assumption, eg. Houses front doors width about 1.0-1.1 m, cars dimenshions, streets' lanes width etc. Hmm. I solved that In this view Infernus max. speed is about 170 kmh. . Yards system could be better, but in this view small cars like Blista is 190cm width, a bit to wide in my opinion. It's a pity unreal world \. Link to comment
dzek (varez)
hmm, 198 is max for infernus for speedx speedometer. im sticking with this way of counting it in all my scripts Link to comment
Salem
there's a little error, because, when You accept 1m=1unit, then Infernus does 1 km per 16.2 second, so it's easy to solve (if it's correct) that he's speed is 221 kmh, not 198. When 1Yard=1unit, it's 202 kmh, what is accepted by me. Link to comment
