Okay, so after having various issues with the game I googled some stuff and found a few useful things:

A texture pack that supposedly increased the quality of the textures in the game. I tried it on my system and I noticed some of the HUD stuff looked better but I was testing it on a pretty slow system so its no surprise there. http://www.moddb.com/mods/sanandreas-retextured-3

Also, the heat haze on my system is unbearably prevalent. It must be something with my system but its like its the haze effect you see on ps2 x100. Luckily I found a small tool that allows me to disable this from the game thus making it playable again. http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=2929

I also found a patch that allows your view distance to be increased. http://www.gtagaming.com/downloads/gta- ... c-mods/965

Now, im sure you sa veterans already know about these and more maybe so:

My suggestion, and I think it would be a very useful one, would be to implement the code from these few utilities directly into the new MTA interface. Other prospective players may have similar issues such as me with the heat haze and may not play the game simply because they dont know about the small mod to disable it. Everyone could greatly benefit from an option to disable it directly in the game. Also, I think it would be cool for the view distance increase mod to be implemented and selectable as well as the higher rez textures so players can quickly adjust the settings in the game.

So.... let me know what you think. Keep up the great work!

I totaly like this re-texture mod it looks very cool. I tried draw distance mod before and i dont like it because it dont show all objects in map and it looks awful, map looks like bugged.

It would be good if mta team would make an option to choose texture detail, e.g. Texture detail|High, medium.

However this re-texture mod - 226 Mb, it will take too much time downloading MTA.

the texture detail and quality is definitely not something the server should be able to set. there are already enough people complaining about low performance on mta. having them set all their settings to high would be pretty stupid

He means in the settings menu for as far as I am concerned. And I hope it is what he means, because it would indeed be weird if the server would get to handle that.

Or you failed to notice that the result was a Heuristics detection, meaning your anti-virus "guessed" as it does modify an executable, which is often (but not always) virus behaviour.

yeah, the one program is definitely not a virus. they're all useful tools, i just think it would be cool to integrate some of these options into the game, mainly the haze effect as it hand grenades my game.

ok how is this

a option to disable or enable the high res texture mod

the mod you must download seperate.

mta is small

users with very good pc systems can use mta with high textures when they do want it

Yes more draw distance would be good and also disable heat haze and motion blur when you drive a car fast. Also, instead of adding option to turn textures higher than they already are, add and option to adjust the game settings because everytime you want to change texture quality or draw distance you have to go to Single Player options and do it there.

the main problem is the fog that exist on mta.. you really dont need higher draw distance.

fog density is controlled by weather in mta, some weather id`s have no fog at all, but it looks at least strange, but you can see almost the opposite end of map on default draw distance
