I have tried installing vice city on 2 computers and playing against eachother, but when you join it tells you a player with the same ip address is in the server. I need a way to kill my little Brother and Vice City is the way to do it. -Somebody Heeeeelp
Gussi Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 The computer that's hosting the game should connect to 127.0.0.1 and the other the normal IP address... Try it
Posty Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 Yup, i tried this and it worked perfectly. I found that it works really well when playing a LAN game. MTA is now PLAYABLE!!! keep up the good work.
Guest Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 Hello, I am very new to this, since it has worked for you,could you please tell me how to do it, I have never played online or on a LAN, I know every thing about mods and how to install them but I just don't know about this, all I have is two computer that are both window xp and can easily play VC city at 1024 by 768 with AF at 4x and AA at 4x. They both have the vice city patched installed. I don't know how to set up a server, what cables I need, or anything else, I just want to play this game on a lan with my brother. P.S. I have read other replys about playing on lan and that you should change your isp or set compatibility to win 2000, l will worry about that later my main concern right now is what do I need to hookup these two computers together cables. Any Help would be greatly appreciated, In any event Thankyou
