ok now i have a new problem. i fixed what was wrong with my game so i can play it normally now but it involved getting a new .exe file so when i try to use the patch from the link you gave me it says my .exe is an unknown version. is it possible to keep the new .exe file and play mta

Do you have the GTASA DVD? If so, just install the game and then run the downgrade patch, it will work fine.

i do have the dvd and i tried that, it still does the same thing, says i don't have the game in.

RIFK, my bad but anyways, seeing that it still happens after you reinstall, you most likely using warez, go and buy the proper game

Ah right, Brophy did say that, Ravenheart didn't. Anyway follow his advice and tell us if it worked. Make a backup of your original gta-sa.exe before applying the patch though.
