Question

That's how long it was the last time i logged in here.

First of all congratulations to the development team, i was very impressed when i first played this (i can still remember it, it was 25-8-2003, i remember because it was my birthday when i found this site), and i'm even more impressed that you are still around making MTA better and all.

Now for my question, how are they working these days, back when i played it it was extremely hard to hit someone, crashed quite a lot, and generally some other bugs.

So what are the bugs these days? Also which version works the best (i love all 3 of them, so i like to play the 1 that gives the best expierence)

EDIT: Just been reading the history, in which is said the hit rate is better (if not perfect, i don't know)

Currently there are two versions available: MTA 0.5 and MTA:SA.

MTA 0.5 combines GTA3 and VC support into a single client. GTA3 support is limited to deathmatch. VC offers both deathmatch and stunt mode. VC's DM is different from GTA3's because it offers you character classes with specific weapons and attributes whereas GTA3's characters have the same weapons but can go into Ammunation shops to buy more.

MTA:SA runs on the brand new Blue core but is currently limited to vehicle racing only. Despite this, it is still very fun, mainly thanks to the map editor that comes with it. This allows you to create your own races with all kinds of pickups, custom objects and ramps.

A lot of the problems that you mentioned have been fixed. It can still be difficult to hit people in 0.5 but the problem is a lot better than it was in the past. Deathmatch is currently in development for San Andreas. Check out the videos on the blog to see what the new sync is like: http://www.mtavc.com/blog/

Thanks for the info, i'm gonna test MTA 0.5 first, but i will also definetly check MTA SA, although there is no shooting each other, i guess it will still be fun to race in it.

Well i tryed both out, from what i could tell the lag in 0.5 is still bad, still really hard to hit someone.

The racing mod in SA on the other hand is awesome, sure some maps have been really poorly made, but overall it's great, can't wait for the DM release, the aiming looks great in there.

Btw has there been anything said about a possible new DM for Vice City, to get the proper aim (perhaps the new SA DM can be just use for VC?)
