True_spin
Hi. In the evening hours, I sometimes spend my time to create some new races. But I havent seen one of my two published maps ever on a server. That makes me sad, cause it would be a very great thing to play one of them sometimes with public players. So I decided to start this thread, to get maybe some more attention at serveradmins... Discussions about the good AND the bad things are very welcome. At this starting post there are the two yet published races. I think it wont take a long time until I upload the next one. Thanks for the attention. I would like you to test my races now. http://center.mtasa.com/?p=race&r=1885 http://center.mtasa.com/?p=race&r=1943 Have a nice day... Link to comment
Ransom
Believe me... I'm campaigning ALOT for a working voting system. Some of my very old ones still go without comments or rating (to give me any bearing on their worth), only a download number signifying they might have actually been used. Link to comment
True_spin
Aha, the voting system is not working. That explains a lot. A mate votet for 7 or 8 races including mine. But the vote doesnt appeared at the map description. But why are there a few maps that had been votet for? Link to comment
bloodeye
i cant even upload my maps:( Link to comment
driver2
In the first map (Betterfinishlonesome), there are too many nitro pickups in my opinion. The ending is not that hard - you should play 'Find the Explosions' - but I like it. The first jump to the plane is quite frustrating if you dont know how to take it. The second map (grunsen) got some quite annoying jumps, but if you know them, it could be fun. A common problem of many maps are the vehicle changes. I don't like sudden changes that result in severe damage or at worst an explosion. There is of course always a risk when changing the vehicle, but some of the changes are hard to control. True_spin
Thanks for your comments. You are right with the first planechange in betterfinishlonesome. If you do not know how to drive over the ramps, you can die very fast. And the change two checks later is dangerous too, because of the hight you are flyin. But as you said, when you know how to get the checkpoint, you wont lose any health. The second one has some unsuspectable jumps, but again as you said just when you do not know them. The first car change can be verz frustrating as well, but it is just when you are driving to fast. The big secret on some races is, that you dont have to drive as fast as it seems to be possible. I thought too easy maps wont be played so long. Am I rigth when I say that a easy map, is going to be boring very fast? edit> didnt we drove together on my server, driver2? driver2
Thanks for your comments. I thought too easy maps wont be played so long. Am I rigth when I say that a easy map, is going to be boring very fast? Maybe. But you also have to remember that testing the map alone won't really show you the challenge and fun you could have with other players. If you make it too hard, it can fast be frustrating for most players, when they die too often or get stuck somewhere. Also with many players, some easy jumps are not that easy. I find my maps sometimes boring and too easy, but if you look at other races that ARE played on public servers (mine aren't) they are not THAT hard (usually). edit> didnt we drived together on my server, driver2? Now that you mention it, I remember your name.. Link to comment
True_spin
Wasnt my name Gnoettgen? Feel free to add me in msn> truespin25hotmail.com Okay, Ill try to make it less frustrating. So noobs can play too. Link to comment
finn_bryant
hard maps will be played more in race v 1.1 because of the respawn. Link to comment
driver2
Okay, Ill try to make it less frustrating. So noobs can play too. I won't say that I don't like hard races, but one or two spots could be improved. hard maps will be played more in race v 1.1 because of the respawn. But not if there are jumps or whatever that won't result in an immediate explosion or damage, but just prevent the player from advancing in the race. This can be quite frustrating. Wasnt my name Gnoettgen? Feel free to add me in msn> truespin25hotmail.com Well, I remember a True_Spin or something like that, perhaps it was another player .. Link to comment
True_spin
The player who left was Gnoettgen, and the guy that disconnected from the remote admin was Truespin. But it was exactlz the same person.... Link to comment
True_spin
So, in the fact that we can respawn in the next release, I decidet to create some more harder maps. I dont give a thing what public guys think. I create them to challenge my mates. And this must be hard, and not so easy. So everyone who likes hard maps should download mine... http://center.mtasa.com/?p=race&r=2044 Link to comment

True_spin
I have edited and finalized the two maps I linked to in post no.1. Have a look and tell me your opinion, please. Link to comment
True_spin
So, new versions are out. Bit harder, cause I have changed weather. Can anyone tell me why my maps are still awaiting three votes. I know that some has votet for. And if you come up with a bug ow, tell me why this bug not works here: http://center.mtasa.com/?p=race&r=2540 It is already votet and honored, while just 13 time downloaded. Link to comment
True_spin
Mkay, made some more..... Its not really own maps, I prefer to use the existing San Andreas as its nice enough, and has a lots of nice streets to race in. http://center.mtasa.com/?p=race&r=5801 First part is fast, then a brake on part. This three times with different cars. http://center.mtasa.com/?p=race&r=5776 Same with different cars here. Shorter course, so 5 laps. http://center.mtasa.com/?p=race&r=5777 This is unfortunatley an updated map. I forgot that I had uploaded it earlier with another name. But definetly a very funny race with lots of players. Vehicle is the Phoenix http://center.mtasa.com/?p=race&r=5779 Very annoying beginning. It costs a bit of time if you dont get the first CP in the air. Like the name says, its fantasy like.... http://center.mtasa.com/?p=race&r=5800 Very fast. I hope you like it. http://center.mtasa.com/?p=race&r=5775 Last but not least. Again the Phoenix cause of his nice drift. Link to comment

People are too lazy to vote. I download about 5 maps daily. I test them and rate them. And even if i don't like some, I do apreciate a good effort. If more people did this we would know how good our maps are. Link to comment
