Can you play LAN games?

Yes, you can. Just start a dedicated server on a dedicated machine and join the IP of that server. If you only have two computers, and you want one computer to be the host AND the client, try entering the IP 127.0.0.1 for that machine. It should join itself, though I have never tested it, so it might not work after all.

that's a big problem... the only fix I know of is to disconnect and reconnect... (leave GTA3 open), but you've aready tried it...

Look at your 'data stream' thing.. or something like that, forget what it's called, and check to see if it's frozen at a number... if it is, disconnect, reconnect....

oh ya... do any messages appear saying: Connection found, ping received

or does it just sit at 'waiting for request'?

If it sits at 'waiting for request', then for some reason, you appear to be incapable of connecting to your own server :?
