Guest
Hello all, I'm not sure this is the proper place to ask, but I couldn't find any contact information for any developers! I am interested in level design / mapmaking, for MTA:SA. It has been a while since I've done any level design (Quake II!) but I realize more & more that I miss those days... nothing else besides PLAYING games has ever captivated me so much as the level design. So, I want to know if it's possible I can start designing maps & such. Thanks, tungsai http://www.tungsai.com Link to comment
Jani
It will be possible. The team plan on releasing an SDK (software developers kit, but I'm sure you knew that ) alongside the first release of the actual mod, so people can edit many features of the game. There will also be a map editor, I'm not sure if this will be part of the SDK or not, but you can see it in use in the second publicity video. You can download the video here: http://www.mtasa.com/videos/ (The one you want is quality assurance 2) Link to comment

Kent747
non of the released maps will have been designed by team members (to my knowledge) every released map is from the testers themselves when they were checking out our level editor and offering feedback as far as usability goes. We thought this was the best way to get lots of maps out to the community, and to put some creativity back into your hands while we take care of the nitty gritty.. so, in short.. we aren't really looking for level designers.... HOWEVER... we are extremely excited to see some of the levels the community makes... Kent Link to comment

Xanarki
Far as I know, level design in Quake 2 is much diff then in GTA. If I'm correct Quake 2 has the same engine as Kingpin, which I have made maps for and such. Link to comment
Guest
don't know about kingpin, but Doom 2 is about as PRIMITIVE as it gets. Kingpin did seem to be based on that engine. I would also like to try fooling around with some Half-Life 2 mods & such, but my lousy PC will not run that game at the moment. I need a new computer. tung Link to comment
