Guest Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Here's the deal: I keep getting disconnected because "another user is using this nick". That CAN'T be true because every nick I use is absurd an no one else would use it. I think that's more a connection problem so if any IT www & network expert would be so kind to help me out here with some ideas... please
Slothman Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 stop triple clicking the connect button when trying to connect. click it once, it will freeze for a few seconds. dont keep tapping it. Guest Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 I don't triple click on the connect button. I doubleclick on the server name and manage to play for about 20-30 seconds after which I get disconnected for the reason I previously said. And I'm running out of nicks now!
Slothman Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 have you tried manually typing in the ip? Check out my recent work: ZDay - a zombie script Slothbot - an AI deathmatch bot my community profile (all my resources)

You're probably the target of a new hack by the notorious hackers of MTA...
Si|ent Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Sounds more like a rogue mtama script to me. Try a different server. The artist formerly known as [MTA]MrBump

Guest Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Anyone knows what port must be open for MTA: VC?
Guest Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Depends on the server you are playing on. 2003 and 2004 seem like the most common.
Jani Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Unless you have a NAT or Proxy, ports do not need to be opened for outbound connections, only inbound, and as far as I can gather from this topic, it's not him that's hosting the server. Make sure to use the Search feature before posting a new topic. Click here for detailed MTA: San Andreas server setup guides.
orappa Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 You can connect to the server, so closed ports are not the problem. Your name is "HackJack" so the script could be kicking you because of the word "hack". Try connecting with different nicks that are unlikely to be blocked. Note: some scripts block "Player" and "MTAPlayer" as well, which I find a little excessive. MTA:SA FAQ - Read this before asking questions.
