After being killed time after time.. I wanted to see who it was that was finishing me off, and looky what i see.. a whole team of stubby n00bs just waiting for someone to spawn. tsk tsk tsk.

I have no clue on earth what you are talking about.. If you are wondering about the 2nd pic, a number of glitches and program errors brought us there.. i'll explain. Me and Jay were minding our own business, riding a banshee and a stinger throughout the streets of Liberty City. We was in an MTA:Turismo race, 1v1, and i was beating him by far. Just 10 feet from the finish line, some bastard on MSN msg'd me.. my gta3.exe displayed a message on the screen "Mixsole mode denied." i have no idea what this mean but anyway.. i alt+tabbed out, told the dude to stfu, then while moving my mouse back to my taskbar to click on GTA3:MTA, i accidentally clicked gta-vc.exe.. It was making me very mad, having gta3.exe AND gta-vc.exe open at the same time - with me about to win this race, was very stressful. I just alt tabbed out of gta-vc.exe and went straight back to gta3.exe, and thats when the weirdness began.. The odd message on my screen dissapeared, and immediatly my character dissapeared and it displayed the WASTED message on the screen.. i was like wtf.. then all of the sudden i was at a 0.3-ish spawn menu, all with vice city models!! Jay told me the same thing happened to him, and i think i know why. while playing the game, he was sending me the halo 2 trailor - and when disaster stroke, data must have been transfered between the clients and we ended with the same weird glitch. just to make sure we was on the same track, we both chose the sailor.. low and behold we was teleported in the bathroom. Everytime we tried to go outside of the bathroom we was teleported back in there! So we just sat and chilled for a little while, we couldnt die.. for some reason our health wouldn't go down. Things got boring and it eventually led to the screenshot. i swear to you this story is honest, i wish i could proove it to you somehow.. oh well. i hope this glitch happens again!

Switching to DSL gave me serious real server issues.

Ok I just said screw it and switched it to a linux dedicated server.. now other people (including myself) can connect to it with acceptable pings, but now another problem has arose: i cannot connect to it via admin+ I'm positive i have all the settings in mtaserver.conf correct, including admin port 4003, client port 2003, server crazymoddingcrew.com, and password.. help pls? -

im not behind a router and it even does the same thing when im OFF aol.. when i turn on my computer, im connected to the internet. however to use aol's features i must sign on to it via broadband.. the clients cannot connect to me whether i have aol or not. and the option in network connections for firewall is OFF.. i dont get it -

thanks. but Akira, i dont have sbc. and im sure i dont have a firewall in my dsl box. if i do, how would i go about disabling it? and kent, im not behind a router. -
I recently switched from dialup to DSL.. and when i start a server, NO ONE can connect to it. They all say its timed out. I have like 3 different ip's and ive tried all 3, only I can connect to them and no one else can. 1 ip is for my DSL ISP 1 ip is for AOL BROADBAND the other is what shows up on http://www.whatismyip.com What am I doing wrong? thanks

omg.. this has just brought me to the question, WHY EVEN ATTEMPT to make blue support gta3 (wich im sure would take a devastating amount of hard work) when you could just play MTA:LibertyCity?

All i can tell you is the only way you can help them is to: a) report bugs b) stay out of their way c) help n00bs so they dont have to d) be patient Dont worry, its not you.. its just that they most likely have the C++ department covered left and right.

oh thats right my bad.. aeron, how does your script detect skin? and does it detect the skin that others see (the synced one) or the skin that you chose?

kinda old topic, but let me quote madboy: there is a way to do this. detect where a player spawns, and if coords = BLAH BLAH BLAH then player = sailor, etc.. do i need to be more specific?

dont be a dick and criticize just because targetting isnt synced. believe me, if the devs could sync it with the current core - it would've been done by now. shut the f*ck up and go back to your controller with your single player ps2. lock request -

there wouldnt exactly be any disabillities of slowing the game speed. so what, the cars would go a little slower, not that you'd notice. as for the gravity changing, that must be done via memory addressing gtavc.exe..

LOL i just noticed he even put the pacman blip on the radar.. that is, if this pic is fake. in fact, a giant sphere chasing you doesnt sound too hard to do in blue. as my old saying that i made up goes, only time will tell.

Hmm so its not exactly 0.3 core, because not only was that core used for 0.3 but also for 0.2.. so its 0.2 core? lol? how about i just call it current core. and im certainly glad to hear that these animations will be do-able in blue.

sorry if it sounded as if i was criticizing... definatly not what i meant in any way. just wondering, if so many people have nagged about it, and if its easy to fix.. you know where im going. but who cares, im not a heli fan anyway.

One thing that bothers me the most with 0.3 core is the fact that there is no animation for a player entering and leaving a car.. it just looks like they magically teleport, not exactly realistic! i think it would make gameplay look so much smoother with car-jacking animations and stuff synced. i was kinda expecting to see that in 0.4 and was a little shocked to see that it wasnt, hopefully its not IMPOSSIBLE to do is it?

as long as there is an animation (wich there is) of sliding down the rope, it shouldnt be a problem.. but it most likely is. it would be rather buggy, what if you slid down the heli while he was still moving? id imagine it would be difficult to emulate "rope swinging" physics with particles generated from SCM.. maybe it should just "freeze" the helicopter while a player is sliding down to prevent any odd looking things. oh and not to mention, syncing animations is not an easy job.

after thinking about what i just said, putting the player a little less Z would be buggy if the helicopter was simply on the ground. you would fall through into blue hell. so what i should have said was, a little less X instead of a little more Z. and when i said use your minds, i was talking about how you would effect speed of falling. sry for double post.
