  1. It was horrible yesterday....it was like every cheater known to man was around. Anyway...it starts to *really* annoy the heck out of me. I just wish we could eliminate the possibility of cheating. CHEATERS: DIE !!!! Also, MrBump was not around as it seemed...tried to contact him... It's also extremely annoying to get accused of cheating myself - just a typical example: [COOL]Dude: I cannot behurt with a chansaw !!!! (Because he is 'cool' and he is in the 'COOL'-clan ! Thinks he is the sh~te !!! All members of [COOL] are so cool and good that every time they get hit someone HAS TO be cheating...lol I kick his ass a few times and kill him with the saw which he claims is impossible. ---> Of course he accuses me of cheating... Etc...etc....you get the idea ! That's also a reason i dont know about the idea of votekick, i am almost sure that MANY, MANY people would get kicked/banned because somene *thinks* they cheat ...

  3. when i start this tool it eats 90% CPU.... So..there's no docs....i think i am supposed to start it, keep the window open and then start GTA VC /MTA VC ??? That's what i did....but it doesnt work. Pressing 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0 does *nothing* here. Mouswheel works as always.

Well i didn't really see it as a 'major' problem..(at least not the #1 problem - i was merely wondering how this looks at the code level/ i have no doubt that you guys are working on all that stuff and keep improving hmm...think. Yes and no. If you see that there is lag anyway, for some less, for some more...the player is never *really* there where he actually is supposed to be..... (correct me if i am wrong !) And...where's the player *between* the 20ms updates ? From that point of view i could also argue with 'misleading position' because everytme it does NOT get updated the player (at home on the client) may move in a direction....but the MTA (and other players) get the info 'only' each 20ms. Then (personally) i'd say interpolating it and adding a bunch more steps in between is still better than leaving a 'black hole' and do NOT move 'til the next information packet arrives. See...the problem is the same ! Also, i think the timeframes (we're talking milliseconds here) would be too short that a interpolated position would introduce major 'errors' or something. Not if every 20ms a 'real' position is received anyway. But i can tell you it would (probably) look much better, especially for things like helicopters..but as said....almost positive they're all working on that stuff already Edit: i mean 50ms of course
  5. looking for the board where i can write more technical related questions...but i dont see a appropriate board... What causes the jerkyness in movement while playing MP, if you see another player move ? Is it the frequency how his movements get updated ??? Eg. if it only gets updated (say) 10 times a second..it MUST look jerky....eg. on a 80hz screen ! I'd like to know how you coders to that internally....and (without knowing actually HOW it is done)....isn't there a way to improve the smoothness of movement ? If the movement is only updated every so and so second.....so you could add code which "adds" the steps in-between automatically. Say, first information is coords x10, y10.....next (positoin) information from a client is x 50, y 10. The code now could just 'move' the character on its own (because it knows NOW "set to x 50", last position was x 10. It could just 'move' the character with 'in-between' steps from x10 to x50, eg coords X15, X20, X25, X30 ... up to X50.....instead just 'putting' the character right there. If you have the current X, Y position and the last one then you automatically should be able to create smoother motion, just put in more steps in between. Can you follow me ? I have always wondered how the code looks...but maybe someone of you coders see what i mean and understand Maybe i am also totally wrong because you already do it in a similiar way..i just dont know... greets
  6. i am all for female chars, and for OTHER, many, many more characters for that matter too !! Isn't there a way so MTA:VC can use ALL the in-game characters which are already there in VC ? Why the limitation to only a few (IMHO unluckily chosen) chars ??? Like....sweaty fat mexican ?? Psychokiller ? Rockstar on Drugs ? Heavy Metal Dude-Guy ? Cop ? (Ok..the cop is halfway ok...) Faggy looking Sailor ? Who came up with that character selections ? That's utterly horrible Please more to chose from !
  7. wouldnt the skin glitch give him the skin, but NOT the weapons ??? If he were a mexican (with spawn airport) and spawned looking like a crusader (10 times in a row)...wouldnt he have the mexican weapons ?
  8. he was at least killed 10 times and re-spawned to continue fighting....AFAIK the crusader spawn is random...and it's very unlikely you spawn ten times in a row at the same good place where it takes you literally only a few seconds going to the airport. and he did not use a car or a copter i have no doubt tat you can be good and get 50 or so in half an hour..especially since he had a quite low ping, like in the 20s or 30s...but when *i* die or anyone else i need SOME time after spawning to go back where the fight was going on and not 5 to 10 seconds.....i WISH
  9. Ok, i do NOT claim someone is a cheater ebfore i have proof....but i wanna know what's going on... There's is this guy ULK[Ghost[....and he was playing as cruisader with a shotty. It took him approx. 35 mins or so to get a score of 50 !!! However, i was able to kill him a few times so were others... How is it possible that he died, and not even 5 seconds (!!!!) later spawns as Cruisader at the airport and continues fighting ??????? If i wanna spawn at the airport i have to be mexican - if i chse to be cruisader i spawn RANDOMLY and it would take me MUCH MORE than 5 or 10 seconds to get from my spawn point to the Airport !!!!! And then..after reaching 50 in this short time of course he left.... I am so SICK of all the cheaters and morons....i hope ULK[Ghost] reads this and explains it to me...because i would REALLY want to know how he got the airport 5 seconds after dying as cruisader !

  11. hey, keep in mind that (in my opinion) every additional weapon, like the hunter etc. would be good for the game...the more choices we have, the more freedom in what to do actually in VC the better it becomes. That's the big, big thing with VC - that we have the freedom to do various things...and that's why we all love the game so much ! Even if we get the hunter and it might sound 'unfair' because of its power it would be a GOOD thing - instead of being limited i what the player in VC can do... Thais also means...that we maybe) dont even NEED 'game modi) (like guerilla warfare)...because the more choices we have...the more people do stuff on their own without the need of special 'game modi'. The more flexible the game..the more 'realistic' it wil get because people will just do what they 'feel' they wanna do..which is a GOOD thing. (However - it can very well be that various modi like guerilla-fights etc.. are nice but [only personally] i think gameplay should be open and up to the people. Regarding the hunter, again: Yeah....there should be a way to 'earn' it....this would also add another interesting aspect to the game because then you can go after scores etc. with the goal to get the hunter...and then use the number of missiles you 'earned' for what purpose ever. I do agreee, however, that there should be no way that 'everyone' ca snatch it and then go on shootng rampages because that would destroy the game. What about...a...hmmm.....'militart career' or something...if there woud be a way to act and earn points to become a 'soldier'...eg. by shooting certain enemies....and if you're high up in the ranking you can also use the hunter ? You're right..balance is everything.....means that EVERY character/career in the game must have an advantage/disadvantage over the other......if you add moer characters/careers (also the girls skins as already mentioned it also can only get BETTER./...again...themore choices, the ore freedom in the game...the better greets
  12. is there a way that MTA:VC somehow includes *active* Anti-Cheat code ? What i mean... As it looks its not 100% possible to avoid that people using cheats. SO....but couldnt there be code which auto-detects eg. if someone geos 900mph....or does other 'impossible' things...that the code detects it and kills/kicks the player ??? Hmmm.....guess not if most is done locally at the *client*... The server might not be able to detect a mod or a cheat...but maybe (???) it can detect other stuff...like the speed someone moves etc..etc..and then do some actions depending on what it detects ?
  13. I was kinda confused finding out that the missiles on the Apache dont do any damage to the others... Just would think it might be funny if there would be an option to have at least ONE or TWO (or better: some way to EARN them in the game ??????) working misiles.....would just be VERY, VERY funny to blow some people up with the Apache missiles I know....life is not fair
  14. hey hardstuff, remember playing with you once. Since i am "Lara C." i *definetly* would like to have female skins in the game....i totally agree with that !!! What speaks about some cool girl-skins ? Better than some sweaty fat Mexicans...what about some sexy Latinas ? LOL Regarding the broadband...in my case....i live in an area where it was impossible to get ANY broadband (and i once was even emploed at an ISP) to my house......DSL is f*****g too far away from the CO. NOW....since abut a month or so Comcast cable is available....YAY...and it would only be $10 more a month and probably (all in alll) EVEN costwise what i pay for the worst high ping dialup ever right now. Problem is....we plan to go on vacation (Florida, yay...VC....but in real life and we save every f****g penny.....so i cant get broadband right now. (This dialup is so crappy i ping over 200 just out of this f****g ISP...i can be lucky if i get a ping around ~300 in EVERY game i play) It sucks to be the highest pinger on every server/game.....sucks even more if you cant even play and kicked off like in MTA. Yesterday i played for a log time on the official #2, i think there were 6 people on....and once more log on i get probs and boom....i got a disconnect.....i like the idea of 6 people servers...as long as i am o this ^%!@$$@****!!!!! dialup..i hate it, i hate it, i hate it
  15. Thats the best part of it IMHO.....otherwise i am not interested in ANY version coming out on the PS2 since i do not HAVE a PS2, nor intend to BUY one. My PC's graphic card alone costs more than a PS2...and i have very high demands on technical quality of a game and gameplay. I guess (even if my PC already is FAR from 'state of the art' anymore) it can smoke a few PS2s for breakfast. (Regarding speed, game resolution etc.) I also dont know wheter i'd be interested in a GTA which i set in the 50s or 60s..... Just as a sidenote: In my opinio MTA;VC is the f****g best and fun multiplayer game out there - i was spending a week or so with some other online FPS and started playing MTA:VCagin and cant believe how much fun MTA is compared to the 10000000st stupid boring FPS out there. Also, i havent played VC (although only at the beginning with it !)anymre since i play MTA:VC...i just wish that the engine woud be a bit more up-to date (eg better textures and such)...but otherwise still *nothing* beats the fun i have playing MTA:VC !! You guys definetly deserve some awarrd, too...alone for the stupidity of R *not* to include any multiplayer....we have the 2000s and (IMHO) a game without multiplayer is NOTHING. And not ALL multiplayer/network games must be stupid boring boom-boom FPS games...MTA:VC is the best proof for it !
  16. its possible that he saw ur chopper as landed so he just got in it and it looked like he "jacked it in mid air". and the flamethrower is in the game. dont post that someones cheating UNLESS YOUR SURE i am *positive* ! i wouldnt post just on a guess ! He also admits it...and he was repeatedly seen on various servers, flying with cars, moving anywhere in an instant, jacking people's vehicles/copters.
  17. there's someone named 'roids' around who cheats, hijacks copters in mid-air....kills all people with the flame thrower...might be around on the two official servers and goonies maybe. i mean cheating sucks...but it is still a difference if someone is cheating and just playing around or tests mods.....or someone cheats just to go on a server and kill everyone and sh*t....pises me off.... i have seen this guy (roids) now at least three/four days in a row with his killling and messing up other people's fun. Maybe someone has his IP ? (He's one of these 'tards who cheats and always proudly announces it too...and then he begs 'ban me', 'ban me') moronic 'tard....
  18. hi, just out of curiosity. To all you who play on a 56k dialup.....what ping-times are your servers ? Mine are always under 300, like 220 or so...i use the official servers or goonies, servers with a ping under 300. Do you also always get disconnected on full servers when there's a lot of action going on ?? What are your average stay times in a game ? (NOT counting crashes...) Just the normal timouts..... I am just curios to know whether others have the same problems..i like thaat game very much but right now i am at a point were i just cant play because all the disconnects. (Otherwise decent PC)
  19. hi, first you say 'dont plan majow changes' just to say (in the next line) '...far superior netcode"....anyway...however you do it, by tweaking or whatever...i am looking forward since (as of right now) MTA:VC is unplayable for me. To a point where i just give up frustrated since i am so frustrated by the disconnects. I also think that only a verhy small percentage of disconnects is actualy the CRC disconnects.....most of them are just 'normal' disconnetcs. I THINK i noticed that most of the timeout/disconnects happen when there's a full server and i go into action where is a number of people on the screen...like 5 or 6.... and full servers (like goonies or the two officials)...my average stay time is like 8 mins...only in very rare circumstances (maybe with a server where is only a 5 people on or so) i can play longer. Then the otehr problem, the crashes where i dont now when they happen. They are rare, but in addition with the disconnects just add to the non-playability. Btw. i am also kinda confused...MTA0.4 70%... MTA:VC 100%..MTA 0.4 core..10% what is the core ? Is MTA.04 == MTA:VC 04 ??? Right now i am only interested in the next version of MTA:VC, which (IMHO) most people play...i
  20. hi, i understand it has to do with the fact that UDP packets dont alow re-transmission like TCP-packets...therefore anything based on UDP code could be seen as 'unreliable'...especially *not* on a LAN but on the internet.... Q: are you planning to re-write the netcode so it uses TCP (or gets more reliable another way) ? How woudl that affect performance ? Iheard TCP could be almsot 3 times slower than UDP... BUT....you dont want to know how many games i played already and 99,9% of these games i get disconnected without an end..i think from 100 games i played ony 4 or so i ever stayed longer than 10 minutes...i really 'pray' that the disconnect/CRC/timout issue gets solved..... And..regarding the 10sec delay...ironic..because yesterday i witnessed one of the server floods....so obviously the 10 sec delay cannot prevent this... *) AND....why does ASE still provide the wrong IPs for the two main servers ????? Only after lresearching a bit i figured out that the IPs are actually wrong... greetings
  21. ok, first i have to say i really like mtavc, IMHO one of the best and most flexible multi-player games available ! I love the freedom you have in the game...eg. you can do stunts, you can race, you can shoot etc..etc... i have a great time...way more than i ever had in any other (action related) online-game ! BUT i think the most apaprent bugs must get rid of, at first the many crashes and disconnects...its incredible frustrating if you're in a game and you get a crash or disconnect always then when it gets 'good'....i I just pray that these bugs are gone in 0.4 ) I had some weird happenings because i prefer to drive in 1st person instead of with a cam behind the car....it just rocks ! The PROBLEM is you dont see when your car is on fire when you're in first person ! Please fix that.....it's only a little thing... (IMHO) ) And..again.....the player skins....which i am not happy with. I dont like how the sailor looks and i am not big on the mexican.....i'd like eitehr a bigger range of skins or smeting like a free selection of characters and you can then also select what weapons you want for this or this character. More flexibility with the characters and weapons..i think that would be great.

I cannot read thenames of the players until they're literally under my nose because the writing is too tiny !!!!!!! * player names on radar * MORE player skins....i am sick of playing as a sweaty balding mexican.....we shopuld have )either much more skins ) or the freedom to do our own - which does NOT mean that game variables are changed....ONLY the looks ! Also for cars !!! More skins !!! * the usual bugs have to go...eg. CRC timeouts etc....but i mentioned that already somewhere else otherwise....looks good...
  23. oh ! that's the FIRST concrete posting regarding this matter i read now ! So....congratulations...you're basically saying it does NOT work and (hopefully) will be fixed in the next version. This is *great* news (cynically spoken) and basically the death of all participants in MTA which are on a dialup. (IE: Modem retrains and v42 renegotiations which happen on my side every once in a while depending on the line quality) . This only in addition to the 'other' (UDP packet loss you say) reasons which are not related to modem/dialup issues....but isnt there a seting to have some more relaxed timing whatsoever so you dont get disconnected all the time ? (I am IL, server i TX......ehrm..this is not THAT far) Still...MTA shouldnt be that picky....but (as of right now with my connecitons) MTA is unplayable....
  24. i am getting *constantly* timeouted - sice i d/l MTA a few days ago....i think the lonegst i've ever stayed on a server was 5 minuets or so... I get either normal 'timeouts' or 'crc timeouts' - no matter how you turn it, MTA is *not* playable at this moment. I disebled my FW (zonealarm), and yes i am on XP SP1 and i TRIED to read the forum for help....but i didnt se any help/fix regarding this matter ! cya
