Cheaters tend to crash the hell out of people on my server. Thats how I know when one is online. Then i go under cover and find out who it is and ban them.

two guys, AnarchY and John, both cheaters using invincible mode, automatic shotguns, etc.

Has happened 2 times now. Only way to get it to log again is to stop the server, move/delete the old log file and restart it. Is this a known bug and is it happening to anyone else? Thanks

Banning entire ip ranges sucks. Yes u get rid of stupid ass cheaters , but u also denies fair gamers to lay. Its Australia, anyone from there has 400+ pings on my server anyway. No big loss.

ive banned that guys entire ISP (@Home australia) at the firewall level. hes a real pain in the ass. He's also gone by name !countdown. He will often just get a new IP and come back to your server when you ban him. You can ban his ISP by banning 203.164.66.0- 203.164.255.255 or(203.164.66.0/16)

Can I edit banned.lst by hand (i.e. notepad) and have the changes automatically take effect, or do I have to reboot server? Also, is there a limit to the number of banned IPs I can have? Also any chance of wildcard bans being added in the future? Thanks

Thanks man! Yes that totally worked, just d/led the libraries, and boom, started up just fine. Could have used those links before I wasted 5 hours trying to (unsuccessfully) upgrade gcc, but whatever I am happy now! Thank you again!

Anyone have this working on Red Hat 9? I get this ./MTAServer0.3: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory That is a GCC 3.0+ library, RH 9 only has GCC 2.96. I'm certainly not upgrading GCC just for MTA. Is there a way around this?

yes its true. you will be constantly disconnected from all servers. for the time you are actually connected, noone can see you, and there is horrendous choppiness. noone can see you talk either

DOES NOT WORK on 98!!! Everyone using 98 has these problems including me!!! I upgraded to XP and it works perfect now!

MTA does not work on 98. upgrade to 2000 or xp.
