Type in game: /votemode Then you can vote for mode's you want. Or type in console: changemode , i dont remember the syntax, but just type it , and u will get the syntax

Many of my friends has the same problem, but i didnt have to put any serial there:S just installed and played well, yes i had to make account, and i received an serial, but i didnt have any place where to put it...
