  1. I'm sorry I must not have been very clear with what I was saying in one of the sentances. It's always nice to have some features ~ main reason I'm looking forward to MTA is the sync. I left SA-MP just because of the horrible hit sync. However, all of the 'feautres to look foward to' won't get used... take for example the trailers. unless theres some kinda mission where you steal the trailer and it has stuff in it and you need to return it to your base, I really see no point in implementing it. Don't take it out though
  2. a good idea would be to release the dm map maker 1 week prior to the release of deathmatch, making everyone counting the days and have tons of maps available. please include maps with the game as well as we will be playing many fun maps but never play them again, unless they're official
  3. this would be fun, it could be gta-mmorpg.
  4. This was for Liberty City Stories on the PSP. This had many cool things, if you're looking for features to implement, take a look. This is just a few of the many. hyper cars - speed up the cars to your choice (If you added this to map editor, it could add some spice) Hover cars - flying cars. Motorbikes on Walls - drive your motorbike on buildings, walls, etc water level - Control the water level.. Video recorder - built in to the game, it could be neat. Indestructible - for the races that have a huge amount of bashing (freefall) If it can be done on the PSP, it can for sure be done on the PC!!
  5. okay, guys. This is only a suggestion - not a start of a flame war, dont get me wrong. What I want to suggest is, have everyone focus on main gameplay. Just the basics, maybe a few features that will make it stand out, but, focus on gameplay. When all the basics are completed the progress will move a LOT faster (Trust me). Releasing patches with things to look foward to (New items in map editor, new mode, new available characters to choose from, improved sync, etc) and also including bug fixes will: 1) Encourage people to download the update and not keep the current version to exploit glitches 2) have people play your mod longer, getting new things makes people happy and they like to fiddle with it. It is like getting a brand new video game. 3) People will go OMG this game is cool, and then you release some AMAZING update and they'll go HOLY CRAP and tell all their friends about it. please take this into consideration, it wil speed up the release date and also give people things to look foward to. people get bored when they have the whole big box and everything they want rather than getting a bit at a time, knowing that the team still pays attention to the project and wants everyone to enjoy it. This was one of the mistakes SA-MP made. Dont make the same.
  6. problem with this could be, if say the race was the shape of a U | | | | |___| and unles they found some way to solve it using checkpoints, someone could be very far behind yet near the 1st position due to being across from eachother in the u shape. if this does come into action i suggest it is only an optional command because this could ruin some games such as deathmatch in cars, derbys, very smalll race maps where you go in a circle, etc... Nice idea though.
  7. I remember playing Diablo 2 a long time ago and i couldn't connect to battle.net becuase I had an incorrect version (Cracked .EXE) you could do something like this but i found a simple solution of taking the original and renaming it to connect. I didnt have to rename it back to the crack after connecting however. I don't know if you can do that. I dontsee why people hack in mta... can't even race, cmon.
  8. Table tennis was a TEST GAME? Man, that game was kick ass!! Especially since it was ping pong, it was a really good game! Overlooking the fact that matches took quite a while... overall very good
  9. For those of you who have a 360 ( like me ) and hae played table tennis you will quickly realize graphics are AMAZING. amazing graphics which are going to be used in GTA4. i think i got this off of xbox360.qj.net i dont remmeber.. anyway - this means gta4 will look awesome on the 360, and when it looked good on the xbox for San andreas, it looked way better on the comp! good news for us!
  10. raven, that would be very time consuming not to mention tough to get past their security... (eg. firewalls) it would be tough enough just to get the code eeven if there was nosecurity... also, windows is installed just about every 6 seconds, from either reinstalling, instaling ,etc. also there are other kinds of windows coming out (Vista beta 1, 2) and the classic XP (Home or PROF), wind 98, 95, NT, 2000, etc... Although the vast majority is home, i believe..
  11. It works in both singleplayer and multi-player. You can't turn scanning off, once it scans, it scans. It doesn't stay on forever

  14. works for me... place the music you want in the custom user tracks folder, then go on sanandreas, pess esc -> options -> audio -> scan user tracks -> get a car -> change the station to user tracks -> listen to your music
  15. if you ask me, changing name of dlls will NOT help, because you can easily rename the DLL of the hack. Don't bother mentioning randomization becuase you will most likely end up with an error in the line of, "you are running a different version than the host". This is why the game should simply start up, redownload the files that are able to be used as hacks, which OVERWRITES the hack. Simple as that. EDIT: Jumba, most hacks such as dll's are simply over-writing official files of the mod or game which will do specific things - so that wont work

    Script

Are you writing the script from scratch, or do you have something that started you off and built along it? I may be able to help
  17. Twig, what I meant by silent bot was it wouldnt be talking to you unless, say, an admin made it speak or it was banning you or something. this silent bot could be reported to and enoguh reports will overlook the user, checking modified files... etc..
  18. is there a way to increase the # of pixels per inch on an object, or make one huge ass ramp going up up up for a super jump that will not take time and be bumpy like what i've encountered almost every time..? If you have any suggestions please please post them even if their stupid. well, not too stupid like "go to place objects and press ramp and then make a bunch of them on top of eachother" Thank yah

    Deathmatch and Race

These are a good choice, and I know you are taking your time making everything top notch so we can all enjoy it. Hopefully you guys are getting something out of this, even if its just a good time, which I am sure you're all getting! My question is: IS MTA going to be based on Deathmatch and Race only? Also, are you going to try to fix the bug where you can see people typing text but you can't type back, everyones actions are frozen, etc... Thanks
  20. A common way for a hack (other than trainers) is replacing a file within the designated folder. DLL Files are very common in this matter, as stated in an earlier post, I believe. To beat the hackers at their own game, they will usually place the DLL file in prior to loading the game - which brings me to an idea. Certain servers may run anti-cheat devices, which will look over each file and determine if it is the correct one. If they are paranoid about it, they can also make it overwrite each of the files back to the original. Of course, this can be used in a POSITIVE and NEGATIVE way. To overcome this, I believe you should build it in to MTA itself, other than having a background program running and only booting hackers when the host is around. Poll-kicking is also a good way to eliminate hackers. By using this, you could get many SA-MP players to play on MTA. Of course, if they hear about the fantastic things you guys have been doing, they'll head their right away, unless SA-MP comes up with some devious plan to make everything work top notch My next suggestion is possibly a 'silent bot' that sits in the servers and overlooks the files the user is running, perhaps even if they are using strange codes, such as alt+1 alt+2, all that crap, like trainers use. I hope you take something into consideration - not necessarily put it into action but perhaps consider it. These actually just popped into my head as I was typing, due to my being bored Good luck. I look forward to MTA:Deathmatch. Especially the custom-made maps
