  1. OK, this is one of the best new ever done for mta+yamm ! Syntax (only to speak about him) made a basic multiplayer mod for both GTA3 and Vice City that i've tested for Red Spike 3 weeks-a month ago I hope you'll make quality as we're trying to do. Yakuzzza, GTAWO member.

No, we're not so soon for a release because : * Red leader meant to use GTA:VC for both map of Liberty and Vice, and has nearly ported Liberty into Vice engine. But, there's a huge problem that i (and Tonton) don't want to have with it : it's problems with Rock*. In fact, porting LIberty into Vice means copyrigth problem, and mess with Rockstar. As I don't want (and Tonton, and perhaps mta team) want to have juridical problem with Rockstar, we won't porting liberty into vice. * Releasing a beta of WO for multiplayers mean we have a perfect version of mta for both VC and GTA3 (mta is an exemple, since i played with Redspike in VC using a GGM-style multiplayer mod (->.scm changes, but only walking and driving feature, no weapon sync, no damage sync, no time sync, no horn sync ) * Releasing a beta of WO with single player means about 1-2 year of work for a single mission coder, surely less for more mission coders. Perhaps we'll release an alpha with only this feature : going from Vice to liberty and liberty to vice, but no multiplayer, and nothing to do in the city.   4. Hello, I wanted to say that we need mission coders. At least 4 or 5 new guys, really motivated and we could progress faster. I've sometimes the sensation that i've got to rewrite the whole main.scm. I think if i'm alone, the mission coding counter will progress by 1% every month. Yakuzzza

    Sorry you just asked my opinion... I gave you 5, less than the mean "can do better". The first box is ugly (with the 4 option). I would had prefer nearly a windows thing, or linuw one. The second is deceiving : i prefers the version we betatested (lol, first saturday, it didn't worked) Yakuzzza
  8. Yes that was a typo. I love typos... Gta3's engine isn't the same as Gta:vc. But Gta3's engine isn't different to Gta:vc. Yakuzzza PS : If they were the same, files could be ported directly into gta:vc. But they aren't so different. As far as i know, mission engine is near (it's gta3 mission engine with more opcodes). I don't know anything for the graphX.

  10. Rigth, perhaps over a year of dev, perhaps less... Don't forget : deasm tool must be done for vice, and we don't know how to do. I am currently lokking for a new citie to link to gta3. Perhaps a year. Yakuzzza
  11. I've got 60% of the specification of linking the game in mind. Tonton has 95% of specification of client/server in mind. We can say client/server is at least 15% done (main part works, data is/isn't compressed i forgot to ask). Perhaps more. I know a little of compression algorythming. I've the two game. All what i haven't got is IJsVogel's eMail or something to progress (if you have it, DON'T POST IT HERE !). As i said to a member of your team, i've got a 2.69 ko mail to give him (not a main.scm... ) I've got to meet IJsVogel as fast as possible. It should be great today until 2pm at gmt+1 or sunday all the day after 2pm to explain. Pass your mail to redspike, he'll fwd me (or i'll ask him, but it seems everybody must have your permission...)   12. Ok Neo, sorry... 'cause i didn't understood well your message... You said "My friend told me IF liberty was in vice city engine" I misunderstood. But already i think there no possibility to port this easy way. It can't be done like this And, to guys who don't trust us, you'll be amazed. For another guy : I KNOW THE WAY TO DO GTAWO, AND IT'LL WORk. All we'll can do is waiting vice's main.scm to be decyphered. It was done in six month for GTA3. Don't trust me... mmm... Should i care ? A friend of mine may (now, not migth) release too a C based language to mission editing. I can trust him. . He should be your god as he's mine now. Perhaps we'll have to release a first version of GTAWO before knowing how to mission editing Vice ('cause RedSpike told you way to much about this, and now all people is aware of it). So we are looking for a modded city, the beautifullest possible and with an airport (and realistic...). Does anyone knows one ? (for those who read all threads 'bout GTAWO (see 0.3b forum). I think 0.2 will be released before 0.1 lol. The game should be multi before single. Sorry... We'll try to make it single as we can but it'll be harder than i though Yakuzzza
  13. k... I'll try tomorow after my hard day of work... If you're rigth, there no problem in making GTAWO in Vice engine only(perhaps even mta:vice edition) BUT : I really (really), really (really really) have doubt about it since Vice has more actors than GTA3 and the actor table is different, and the weapons are differents (nd they are coded in the GTA3(or vice).exe, so i'm pretty sure all your friend tells you is lies... The map was not done for flying in it, we should have to remap all the thing and it could take monthes and monthes only to do this. And btw, there can't be smoother graphX since GTA3 texture are 16 bit (or 24 i don't remember) and Vice are 32. So this is another hint your friend tells you lies. I'll try tomorow (that'll be the very first thing i'll do before running the game, i know it 99% by PS2...), and i'll confirm this or have to find excuses... AND if i've got to find excuses... We'll never give you files unmoded from GTA3, don't dream... We're not crackers, we're modders (it's a harder job ). Yakuzzza
  14. And, and, and... Website is 90% done (sorry)... We can say mod is 0.0001% done too ( Tonton ) (but i know only half the team). I and Tonton are pretty sure how to link Vice and Liberty by airport. Redspike want us to be linked by sea perhaps later, but it should be harder to do it (and Vice is west coast style and Liberty east coast style...). Don't ask to include things in it : it's 0.0001% done, and there is a lot of work to do before a sympathetic v0.3 (just as MTA ). And we've got so many many ideas we want in it that it's huge to code yet. Yakuzzza PS : it's 00:25 am here 'cause of GMT+1. One day lasting before pure joy. (and only 5-8 hours for american fans)
  15. I said we'll glue both GTA3 and GTA : Vice City. Liberty City will got the GTA3 engine, Vice City the Vice City engine. You will have to have both game to play this mod... I think this can be done when : * MTA Vice City comes out. * A Vice City mission asm comes out (or "we manage to do it without") All this for the single player version (probably the 0.1). I think i know how to glue any other map to this mod, but haven't tried yet. The condition to include a map would (yes, would) be : 1 - The map must have an airport 2 - The map must be in united states 3 - The map must be nearly in final version (we don't want to bother you with dl upgrades for map only) 4 - No multiplayer mod in the new map mod, it could interact with MTa (of course) 5 - No .exe modding in new map mod 6 - The new map mod team must be agry to link with GTAWO "7" - Your map have to be as clever as possible, we reserve the rigth to say no to crap... We'll see, we won't judge you but point 3 is really important. Probably there will be only a number of plyer that MTA accept in the whole world of GTAWO, so we don't them to be dispatched too much. Multiplayer will surely be included in 0.2. Others cities in 0.3. And perhaps a new single player campaign that take place both in Liberty and Vice later. We would also love to port Liberty City in Vice City engine but it seems to be a job for 20 people at least. And copyrigth problems too. We'll ask Rock* before and we will need some of your talents... We'll try to add radio if we can, we'll try to ad heli and bikes in Liberty if we can, to choose skins if we can, etc. (to ad, not to change). What we won't do : modding Liberty or Vice map (but Liberty if we port it), because all player(s) should know where to go, and because Rock* has done great as they are just now. And last but not least : don't expect a released before 2-8 month at least. Sorry, don't know when it'll comes out (as usual). We're serious and we want to do it. And very last but very not least : we MAY do an advanced language for mission editing. Asm sucks (not for the soft guys have done for it, but for the pain to program it) and this one reminds me C compiled. Btw, i've heard PS2 use C. How bizarre... I hope it's clear now ! Yakuzzza

But i check this one sometimes. I think they know mta is coming, and they try to do their best (if it's not a joke...). Yakuzzza To answer xerox, that's really not sure. Competition should dispatch talents first, then perhaps make multi mod better. But first it dispatch talents... (you're one the first to know how it's hard to do a multiplayer mod. You've got solution others don't (for now) and surely others got some of your answers...). I think i know why you've got problems with guns (and only get a handgun in it.). If this is it, the snipper could be done (same thing as a handgun... but damages... ) and perhaps baseball bat too. You should try to look how are done multiplayers in fps to rearange it. No ?

  18. Ok, perhaps it was too early to speak about it... GtaWO is (in my ideas) a not near project (3-4 month for a first release at least). Because of two things : 1 - Vice City is not out today, and nobody has never tried to mod this game already (Vice), nor has succeded in decompiling the main.scm 2 - Some of us (me in particular) are n00b in modding. But i can assure u i strongly have the will of it. i've made 150 hours of assembler in my school, i think i can handle it (with a lot of work, o'course). A few answers now : In my ideas (again, but that's not official) in a first step, we will try (no, we'll succeed ! ) to link GTA3 and GTA : Vice city. I quote a thing i didn't think before (thx !) CD switching. The license say : "you can mod all the game but the .exe" so we will have to CD-switching, sorry. The second thing : i (that's me) will never slow mta progress. Or we'll try to. Second step (don't expect it before AT LEAST 4-5 month !), linking others cities in GTAWO. That mean : you've done a great city ? You've got an airport ? Can we link your citie ? Ok, we'll try to link it (or "here's the things you've got to do..." we aren't mad, we're 8...) Third step : err... "K stop dreaming", let's see the first before. Who says include a new story mode for single players ? And sorry, no coop (it could be really messing, my head will blow if we'll do it) In fact, i don't know, i'm a n00b But i can assure you'll play in it (or there will be only me in this thing... ) That's all folks !
