i know that u cannot use MODS while playing gta3. but i have to say...i usually lag pretty bad. i have saw this MOD that takes the newspapers and cigarettes away to increase my frame rate...and takes away rain also...i was just woundering will these result in crashes?

We don't support any kinds of mods with the current version of MultiTheftAuto.

I think that that would make u crash

If u take away the rain then how can the random weather work

When it will be raining u will be crashing i guess

Taking away the newspapers wont make u crash i think

Its worth a try but as long as u dont use cheats like healthhacks ;)

Actually, in 0.4.1, they removed the synced weather for GTA3 because it caused instability issues.

However, installing this mod could result in you lagging or crashing other players' machines.

Hmm didnt think o that Jon

I'd say give it a try but use an empty server when testing

Dont go to a full server and let those others crash to

First test it in an empty server

It works then u could probably try in a server with more people to try it out

And lag isnt so bad for u

It makes u tougher to kill it wont have some effects on you as far as i know

This mod actually sounds useful because rain and other unnecessary eye candy can take a heavy toll on system resources. However, it might crash if the server begins demanding fog. I don't know how it works. You probably shouldn't give it a try unless you really know what you are doing.

Weather affects the handling of vehicles, therefore removing it is cheating. Anyway, I doubt that traditional weather mods will work with MTA.

GTA 3 mta doesnt have random weather but as i said try it out in an empty server

If it helps ur lag go down then its ok but if it works as an cheat then its not ok

All the mod does is 'toggle_rubbish' which we already did in the gta3 scm, so no need to do it again.

GTA3 v 1.1 is supposedly faster, so you might want to try that to increase framerates.

That wouldn't make any difference, as you have to be running 1.1 in order to run GTA3:MTA.

All I can suggest is that you either overclock or upgrade your machine. I doubt that "performance mod" would have made a great deal of difference anyway.
