Pawel Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Hello to all. Excused my English, but are Italian. I wanted to know if it were possible to put a Server on a Site one and to make available it 24h on 24h.
darkdreamingdan Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 sorry could you explain it a little more, i dont understand VCP FOREVER!
Jani Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 you'd need to ask your webhost for permission. also check that the server box is capable of running a server. Make sure to use the Search feature before posting a new topic. Click here for detailed MTA: San Andreas server setup guides.
Pawel Posted April 30, 2005 Author Posted April 30, 2005 I would have to ask mine provider if there is the possibility to install serveur?
orappa Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Most web hosts will say no because of the massive amount of bandwidth it will use (in comparison to a web site). MTA:SA FAQ - Read this before asking questions. MTA:SA Troubleshooting - Read this first if you have problems.
HardCoRe. Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 my guess is you are using a webhost, usully they wont bend over and give you thousands of megabytes of bandwidth..... but maybe your provider has been smoking crack for the last 20 mins. who knows. .....woot!
Pawel Posted April 30, 2005 Author Posted April 30, 2005 I have the infinite bandwith. But it is possible to install the Serveur on a Site one?
MeanpantheR Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 if you have shell access + ftp access, then yes it is very posible MTA Server Hosting (pm me for details!) VCES / SAES Clan Member - VCES.net
HardCoRe. Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 well, id be kool if MTA had a phpbb based server ... with basic functions...liek a "dumb" server or something... but this is me rambling. upload it via FTP, execute it using the shell. .....woot!
Pawel Posted April 30, 2005 Author Posted April 30, 2005 When i want lanch the server on my Pc i hav this Errore: An error occured when attempting to launch the server:Listen server started. ERROR: Unable to bind to the socket. Check that on other instances MTAServer.exe are running and try again. Unable to star server. What i must doing?
Jani Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 make sure nothing else is running from your specified game port. Make sure to use the Search feature before posting a new topic. Click here for detailed MTA: San Andreas server setup guides.
Pawel Posted April 30, 2005 Author Posted April 30, 2005 Ok, i edit my Port and now Launch. But i can install the MTAServer on a website, for have they 24/24h.
Brophy Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 u must have permission from the host and shell access to put a server up like that, a webhost wont take lightly to someone caining there bandwith
Pawel Posted April 30, 2005 Author Posted April 30, 2005 I have not understood, you can use easy words?
orappa Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 Lol, "caning their bandwidth" means putting a massive load on it. MTA:SA FAQ - Read this before asking questions. MTA:SA Troubleshooting - Read this first if you have problems.
Pawel Posted May 1, 2005 Author Posted May 1, 2005 But I have website on a Server, therefore I want to put the MTAServer to us, but not sò like making.
Brophy Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 yeah u might have a website on a server but it dont give u the right to run a game server on it unless u have official permission, take it up with your webhost, if it worked like that most mta players would have there own server
MeanpantheR Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 on most cpanels, shh(shell) is disabled, if this is the case contact your webhost manager asking them to enabled shell access (they will probally say no ) MTA Server Hosting (pm me for details!) VCES / SAES Clan Member - VCES.net
Jani Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 yeah u might have a website on a server but it dont give u the right to run a game server on it unless u have official permission, take it up with your webhost, if it worked like that most mta players would have there own server laggy ones at that though, remember webservers arent big beasty gaming machines are they?
