l2ebel
well if a game needs dx 9.0 than you WILL need to install it somehow, are your video drivers and all the gfx stuff up to date? some pc specs wouldnt be bad i think Link to comment
Scorp
Yeah that sound like a driver issue. DX 9.0 should be certified working; get it here You probably got either a nVidia or ATI video driver. Get the latest versions here: http://www.ati.com http://www.nvidia.com -- What do you mean when you say that Vice City is 'downloaded' in the topic title? Link to comment
[UVA]BuLLiT
i got a radeon 9000 what update should i install on it and i just wanna play MTA and ive played vice city be4 so i dont know what the problem is except it keeps saying directx 9.0 hasnt passed the windows logo testing even though my computer is legit Link to comment
Scorp
Well, then the latest ATI driver for you would be 5.2 Catalyst but that still won't sort the directx 9 issue, can't you just say ignore to the unsigned WHQL? or is it your OS that won't accept the directX update? Link to comment
[UVA]BuLLiT
it keeps saying that it hasnt passed the windows logo testing and the same goes for the new mediaplayer even though i have used it before i had to do a system recovery on my computer and lost all my data and iam up do only direct x 8.1 Link to comment
orappa
But DirectX doesn't use WHQL signatures as far as I'm aware. Aren't they only used for drivers? Also, even if it comes up with that message, you can still continue and 9 times out of 10 you won't have any major issues. Link to comment
[UVA]BuLLiT
well it finishes installing but i lost the second cd and i put the crack not to play the cd and it worked but i think it still needs direct x 9.0 Link to comment
orappa
So what exactly happens when you try to run Vice City single player? What are the error messages? Link to comment
Guest
well it finishes installing but i lost the second cd and i put the crack not to play the cd and it worked but i think it still needs direct x 9.0 You need to second CD to install the radio files, otherwise with a noCD crack it wont run afaik, i tried not installing them on my pc once an it wouldnt run. OR you could find some replacment radio files which are empty. Link to comment
[UVA]BuLLiT
ok i lost the second cd so when i open vice city it asks for the second cd but i dont have it cause i misplaced it(lost it), so i get the crack for the second cd and input it in to the data file of VC and that works but i sstill cant play vice city, so i get the crack for the second cd and that dont work cause it says error and i need to reinstall vice cit, which is annoying so what do i do!!!! orappa
We shouldn't really talk about this kind of thing, but in order to get a crack working, you need to copy all of the audio files on CD 2 to the Vice City\Audio folder. I'm sure you could borrow it off a friend or buy a version cheaply off eBay. Link to comment
[UVA]BuLLiT
i had the legit thing iam not gonna go out and buy a new copy of VC, my dumb sister complains bout me leavin the CDs in the computer but i cant be bothered to take out and then on her birthday i was playin it and that was the last time i saw it in december, then i got broadband and couldnt wait 2 play MTA with a better connection and found out i lost the CD, and i just wanna know how i can play with out the second cd and i wont mention that way it will be known as 'bumhole'. Scorp
Minimum Hardware Requirements 800 MHz Intel Pentium III or 800 MHz AMD Athlon or 1.2GHz Intel Celeron or 1.2 GHz AMD Duron processor 128 MB of RAM 8 speed CD / DVD drive 915 MB of free hard disk space (+ 635 MB if video card does NOT support DirectX Texture Compression) 32 MB video card with DirectX 9.0 compatible drivers ("GeForce" or better) Sound Card with DirectX 9.0 compatible drivers You'll undoubtly be needing DX 9 for it to run Link to comment
