Mike
I don't know if this is of help, but when I first set the game path, on the first go it said "Invalid executable" but I tried again straight away and it worked Link to comment
Guest
Yeah, thats strange, becasue i keep doing it and it says it over and over..Maybe though, i could get lucky and it will work. And if it helps, i have the Ded server and patch.. Link to comment
NeCrOn
I have the same exact problem. Link to comment
Scorp
It just says Invalid exe once, then when you try again it should be sorted I even went so far as to use my cd exes again but it turned out that no-cds work anyway. Link to comment
NeCrOn
Obviously its not sorted then. Link to comment
Guest
Yeah, no matter how many time's i try, it just wont let me into a game..Oh well, i geuss i'll have to stick to Single player. Link to comment
Guest
i get this error also, does anyone have a working exe that they can send me? Link to comment
Scorp
www.aeron.tk Good to have Aeron's site to link to, seeing he supports MTA with teh admin Link to comment
Slothman
is it possible to manually edit the config file for mta in order to bypass this invalid executable? Link to comment
JacoB
I don't know why exactly you added an "invalid executable" protection to this release. I could suppose you added it literally to protect people from pointing the client to an incorrect executable, but as you have seen, numerous people have reported this error, numerous times. And in most cases I'm sure they have a "correct" executable.. I think this round of error checking should be dropped. If someone seriously is dumb enough to point the client to, say.. notepad, then they are either intentionally looking for for a bug - wich no doubt they will get - or they are too lazy to read the documentation. Slothman
i beleive it's in place not just for that purpose, but as cheat protection. MTA team havent really taken a stance 1 way or the other as far as cracks go. just dont talk about them in the forum, and they dont bother about them in development (so they say) Link to comment
NeCrOn
I installed patch 1.1 and then got "You have a modified MTA reinstall" reinstalled MTA and now it runs fine. Link to comment
Guest
I installed patch 1.1 and then got "You have a modified MTA reinstall" reinstalled MTA and now it runs fine. 1.1? The server patch? I did install that, but it still doesn't work.. Edited February 8, 2005 by Guest Link to comment
Scorp
noo he means the VC 1.1 patch, you can find it here Link to comment
Guest
I dont have VC.. I bet thats why though. Is there a GTA3 1.1? Ohhh wait, i found it. I'll install and post back with the results. Thanks! Link to comment
Scorp
uh mistake, of course he meant GTA 3 - 1.1 patch, find it here and btw GTA3:MTA doesn't function without patch 1.1, so that would explain your problems. Didn't a message tell you to fetch 1.1 ? The old client (0.4.1) had that. Link to comment

The old client (0.4.1) had that. No, this one doesn't seem to have that message for some reason. Perhaps it should be changed to "Invalid executable. Make sure you have GTA3 version 1.1 installed." Guest
And this is exactly why I can't connect to any servers... and is now 'suspected of trainer usage'. psssh. Link to comment
