Guest Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 Since I installed SP2 the MTA clients delays for about 5 seconds for the "Connecting" AND "Connected" messages to appear on the screen (they now appear simultaneously while before SP2 the connection was achieved in less than a second in my LAN's linux server). Any ideas? XP's Firewall is set to "not active".
MrJax Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 um...i thought it was the server., most efrag tend to delay the client, and rest connect instantly (for me anyway)
Guest Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Anyways, is there a workaroung on this? (except of course of not using SP2 as mentioned...). Until a new version is released, has somebody found any trick on this problem?
Si|ent Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 You find a five second wait this much of a problem?
Guest Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Not _that_ much. However in my case I run an automation script to control the MTA client (since I use it in an internet cafe environment and I don't want somebody to accidentally press the "reset config" button for instance). In _that_ case, the delay is a script's stability problem because the user is able to press an MTA Client's button within that 5 seconds, not allowing the script to end its automation function properly. That's all... In other words I only asked a question based on a problem created by SP2. I had no intention to underestimate your anyways excellent job.
