Dgtadude Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 Make sure ur typing the correct server ip and port . use ASE . if you use it . u dont have to enter the Ip and port . it does that automaticly . all u have to do is click in one of MANY servers in a list . orappa Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 There are loads of problems that could have occurred. What's the error message? MTA:SA FAQ - Read this before asking questions. MTA:SA Troubleshooting - Read this first if you have problems.
Si|ent Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 If it is simply 'A problem occured while trying to connect' then it is a 'failure to make connection' problem. Most commonly a firewall, either hardware or software, preventing mtaclient.exe from communicating. (happened to me this week funnily enoough when i changed my firewall software). Or an incorrectly configured router. Just clear it with everything and it should work fine. The artist formerly known as [MTA]MrBump

THaNks Could be anything.. from a wrong server IP/host to DNS problems at your internet service provider. Try to use ip addresses instead of domains and hosts, and make sure there's actually a server running on that ip/port.
