Hey!

As you might be aware of, there is a new version on GTA San Andreas in the Windows 8.1 store available for 5.99€

I was wondering if the MTA would work on that version of GTA.

It has better graphics and a bit different GUI because it is a also for tablets. I want to play it on PC ofcourse.

Thank you for your help!

I think after you install that GTA San Andreas and install MTA it will ask to download patch/update? and then it should work normally!

I'm pretty sure that's for ARM Windows 8.1. In that case, it will not work.

Not necessarily - look at the screenshot below (sorry for the hacky Paint.net job but I'm not sure how to make a proper screenshot of the page from Windows Store):

gtasa-windows-store-pl-th.jpg

You can also find that page at this address - paste it to your web browser's address bar (Windows 8/8.1 only):

ms-windows-store:PDP?PFN=RockstarGames.GrandTheftAutoSanAndreas_3t068xe29zjvp

I have no idea what version is it though. The file size listed for the game seems to be kind of small (1.84GB vs regular ~5GB).

As qouted by jhxp: x86, x64, ARM

The game feutures:

Features

Remastered, high-resolution graphics built specifically for mobile including lighting enhancements, an enriched color palette and improved character models.

Dual analog stick controls for full camera and movement control.

Three different control schemes and customizable controls with contextual options to display buttons only when you need them.

Tailor your visual experience with adjustable graphic settings.

Also an another quote:

Rockstar Games brings its biggest release to mobile yet with a vast open-world covering the state of San Andreas and its three major cities – Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas – with enhanced visual fidelity and over 70 hours of gameplay.

When installing on a Windows RT PC we recommend a Microsoft Surface 2 or equivalent.

So this is the "tablet" version as I said before, and MTA doesn't work on this version.

Edit: surfrace/ windows RT pc is a tablet-computer

That doesn't prove much, as the grammar used implies that other versions exist, for non-RT devices.

The game engine is different, I bought it on my moms surface via the windows store and it's exactly like this:

So I don't think that it does support MTA, you should buy it via steam.

No, MTA most definitely doesn't support it. But, if you have a plain Windows 8.1 PC, x86, you might be able to download the game as the store says it supports it. Since you own it, you should try and download it.

Game engine wouldn't be the biggest worry, not to mention GTA:SA only uses RenderWare Graphics, not the whole engine. Though, GTA:SA mobile still uses RenderWare.

I used to know how to code, but then I took an arrow in the knee.

We don't know. We need someone to buy it on a Windows 8.1 desktop. I have a feeling the store is lying about x86 support.
