PunkRazza Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 Well its been awhile and i got mtavc WOOT but i cant play it because i dont have certain ports open... anyone know what it is? i have windows xp firewall (i think) and i have qwest dsl gateway (not sure if this will be a problem either) Can anyone help me open server/game ports...?

-UtopiA- Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 Your firewall prevents you from joining servers? Never seen that problem before. I've had both Linksys and D-Link routers with firewalls. Oh well, I guess you might have a different type of firewall. By the way, some servers run on port 3003. It's a utopian society, didn't you know?
orappa Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 It can run on any port - it's just that most people leave it at the default, which is 2003. Also, some firewalls are funny about outgoing data, as it could be a DDoS attack without the user's knowledge. MTA:SA FAQ - Read this before asking questions. dystopia Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 yeah god forbid if you use zone alarm...dependant on how the windows firewall is setup, it can be equally as picky, most router firewalls wont stop it tho...when i turned on my windows fw one time it wouldnt go thru, just depends. It makes you want to drink the sun
