Point Blank Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 my idea is to incorperate the /dissconnect and /rejoin commnad cuz when u time out or when ur connection drops it shows in the chat that u got dissconnected and have to alt tab out and reconnect my idea is so when ur in the game and u get dissconected u type /rejoin in the chat and u rejoin the server you where previously on
SM xenex Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 Well the Disconect command your asking for is already in but on mta its /quit and it will close gta dn mta and bring you back to desktop, the rejoin/reconect command would be nice too since everytime you alt tab out of game you risk crashing when you come back in.
=TmM= DuffBeer Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 think of the "BUT", if a server were to reset to change to stunt, and you used a /reconnect command, you'd be going around in desync'ed cars and would probably simply crash.. it'd be kinda buggy . If you get disconnected, its best to close the game off anyways.
SM xenex Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 Not really , well not as i see it, i play some other online game (fps) and in it it servers also change their gametype while players all still playing.What it does is make the player go to the loading screen again and load the level,weapons,characters,options,,objects that have to be used in the new type, so in this it would just ( if it was changing from dm to stunt)send the players to the loading screen , then load new vehicle postition ,new characters,health postions etcetc .so only thing that would have to be done is force the player to load new type.
[KFC]KungFu Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 For version 0.2.2 there was a great restart utility that would get you back in the game when you timed out and it would restart your game when it crashed. It was so beautiful. The MTA team took a dislike to it because they wanted to encourage people to close the client and reconnect when your game crashes. Nobody does this to this day... But ofcourse this application does not work on version 0.3
