dystopia
Recently in an attempt to help control spam aol started blocking smtp requests from public domains. I realized this awhile back when my forums kept getting denied by aol. As well, this forum has stopped sending mails to my aol account. The only real cure for end users is to get a new email for forums, personally I had to switch to my cellphones email. Supposedly it is possible to get an ip unbanned, but when I contacted verizon, they said they wouldn't deal with it for a home account such as mine. Obviously mta isn't hosted at a home, but its smtp is being denied. Since I hadn't seen a post on it, figured I would make it aware in the event anyone had this problem. And yeah yeah "aol is a lame kids internet" truth is we keep it for my tech impaired mother and brother haha. Link to comment
darkdreamingdan
yeah, the only reason i have aol (yep, embaressed to admit it) is cus of my dad, and because its so 'user freindly' and 'the worlds #1 isp'. about the thing u said, i havent got it cause i only use aol as an isp, cause the inbox is worse than BLAST Link to comment
dystopia
no doubt, I used it for forum bulk emails, since it was near impossible to pick a good mail out of all the spam...which...aol still fails to block...but hey, no more annoying forum spam now lol Link to comment
