Guest
Hey guys! I'm having a few major problems with MTA. Any thoughts would be helpful. 1. Anytime I'm playing I have this box in the middle of the screen that says "Message of the Day" and has useless info in it. I can barely see what I'm doing. Any way to get rid of it? 2. I can't stay connected for more than 2-3 minutes before it signs me off. 3. Whenever I am online and connected, everyone else looks like they're standing still, but I don't have any lag at all on my end. Sorry if this stuff has been addressed before, but I've searched the forums and haven't found anything. I've also read the manual and it doesn't have anything about this. Link to comment
dystopia
1. the MOTD will go away after about 5 seconds, patience young padawan 2./3. Are you behind a router? you might need to enable whatever port the server is running on enable to stay connected, same for any software/hardware firewalls Link to comment
Si|ent
Straight from the manual: Requirements: Windows 2000 or Windows XP (home or Pro) (it does not work on Windows 95, 98 or Me) How you could have missed both that and every other location that mentions it (faq, sbs, forums) is beyond me. SteadVéx
umb, did i miss something, i thought he said the MOTD does not go away at all + where did he say the os? in my opinion it sounds like its not connecting properly...i think thats why you think the lag isn't at your end, thegame doesn't really lag, just other people move slowly if you are or jerkty, i am right aren't i?? does an ything show up with the motd? like is it from the server or does it just show up blank? i can't help at all but i'm pondering if i can help find out what it is, although it really sounds like connectino problems to me Link to comment
dystopia
well the disconnecting thing is a common deal with 98/me, but it happened to me as well due to my router's firewall, thats why i suggest that first Link to comment

ijsf
If you're using an australian version of VC, i recommend you to get rid of it and get an european/american version. If that's not your problem, make sure you installed 0.3r2 instead of 0.3 Link to comment
