me Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 Here's how it works: 5 people on a server. 4 nice, happy, players killing each other, and one EVIL cheater. The evil cheater wrecks all the other player's fun, so @admin comes to the rescue. Player A (I'm so imaginative) says to the chat: "@admin oy, there's a cheater on the server." "oy, there's a cheater on the server." gets sent over to an IRC chan (say... #theserverofbob), or /msg'ed to an admin on IRC. Admin comes, cheater goes, everyone wins. Easy to script, and effective. Of course, it'd also have /msg the IP address of the person who uses @admin to the admin, so as to stop abuse.

Guest Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 you said your making the client check the files, isnt there a way to make the server do it? just curious
eAi Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 No there isn't.... Servers don't have access to files for obvious privacy reasons... eAi
