just wondering if it would be possible to make player/s exit the helicopter like the swat teams do in single player (down the rope)?

this could possible stop the glitch that slices you up when u leave a chopper in mid air

Doesn't that happen in vice city? If it does, i'm sure it can be done. Pretty much anything that you see in gta3/vc can be done. I'll have a go tommorrow.

the thing with the ropes? it reqiers a whole new animation for third point view...

Well i'm wondering if its just an exit animation... I'll have a look in a bit and 'report back' ;)

The rope is seperate, in pausing the game, it just droped to the ground and vanished...

it doesnt ahve to be exact im just saying that if they could include a feature that uses the idea of absailing down a rope

this is pure conjecture but sounds about what would have to happen

-spawns a swat guy at whatever offset from centre of heli is

-has it play the animation of going down while the character is moved along z axis for however many meters the heli is off ground

-then plays the landing(rolling) animation

possible at the same time the game could play another animation( the rope) which has no real effect on the person goin down the rope

the rope insnt a must , if it is too hard then the effort should be spent elsewhere but the abilty to (properly) exit from a heli 15 meters high is the main part

Well its posible, essentially its the same as a normal midair exit with less damage and a couple of different animations...

Thats probably not hard, do the usual exit animation then quickly move the player down a bit....

That's a good idea. I hate when something happens and I fall UP to rotor blades while chopper hasnt moved down much yet. :shock:

yeah but the code would have to be pritty selective cause u would get alot off ppl falling thru the ground when u get out from ground level (or close to)

Then it should not work near ground and release player a bit before he touches ground. :D
