I understand that development and any bug fixes for this function were completely discontinued back in 2008, but why can't this be re-looked into? This function works perfectly in SA:MP, I don't see why there is such a hassle with it within MTA. It's kind of hard to take roleplay servers seriously when everybody is walking around like Samuel L Jackson and running as fast as cars.

I agree, it should be re-enabled at the very least. Just made known that it doesn't work with a certain style.

I've been wanting to script a command for this for a long time, but haven't been able to because it's disabled.

You say that it's a bug ... You say that you need a function...

You can script any kind of walking / running style for any player. Look at stealth gamemode for an example. But do you really expect a single function making life easier for noob copy-paste RP pseudo scripters.

Your attitude does not help anyone here. The MTA team implements useful functions, which would be harder to be implemented via Lua and MTA functions, which would eventually become a cluster-f*ck with MTA workarounds. I would see this as a useful function since it was already being implemented at some point, but they removed the support.

As setPedWalkingStyle is causing lots of crashes it has been disabled, you can just use setPedAnimation.

I know, but it does not work the same and is not used for the same purpose. I'm talking about removing CJ run and when alt is held for the player it's a normal walk instead of the oh im a badass look at me.

I'd suggest that all the interested should download the latest nightly and try if/how it works.
