lets say you are playing on a LAN and all computers playing have EXACTLY the same mods installed, no more-no less. does this distort the synchronization?

would it work?

It depends on the mods installed, but I think it would work.

Try to keep one version of GTA Vice City clean and modify the other, so you can switch easier between private (LAN) play and Internet play.
