Robson Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Hi, I suggest to make some little chat and radio changes, so it can work like in SA:MP. It's very useful. CHAT. 1. Allow cutting (ctrl+x), copying (ctrl+c), pasting (ctrl+v), marking (ctrl+a) in 'T' and 'Y' chat. 2. Allow editing current text without deleting it (cursor needed - navigation by left and right arrows). 3. Allow cutting, copying, pasting, marking text in 'T'/'Y' with mouse. 4. Allow switching between your previous/next (if rewinded already) messages (navigation by up and down arrows). 5. Add timestamp, pagesize commands. RADIO. 1. Repair User Tracks rewind button (default: F5).
Callum Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I don't think we need timestamps, to be honest - almost every chat message would span multiple lines. Retired
Woovie Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 These are good ideas. You should put them on http://bugs.mtasa.com/ as a feature for more visibility. Edit: I do agree with Callum though, timestamps are unnecessary. You can easily add that feature to your server if you want it by making a custom outputChatBox. RiD Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I liked all your ideas, except timestamps. That can be, perhaps, an optional feature that comes disabled by defualt. Everything else I appreciate. It's one of the things that piss me off in MTA - the chat system is way too basic. You make a mistake in your command, you have to type it all again, and so on. The Camelocalypse has started. Camel: The Expedition, now with lens flare, dubstep, HD graphics, instagram filters, zombies, expensive DLCs, blue tint and Battlefield 3 maps, with extra BLING! Pre-orders accepted, contact me. Soon to be in Steam Greenlight™
Robson Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 I can't find 'report issue' even when I press 'new issues'.
Callum Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Select the 'New issues' project and look at the navigation menu, it says 'Report Issue' four along (from the left). Retired
GodFather Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 About chat, it is interesting how all that is present in the console (f8) but not in the chat itself...
Robson Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Ok. I've posted it in issues. Yesterday I didn't have this feature 'report issue', I guess my account wasn't activated or whatever. Link.
diegofkda Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 MTA has a console (F8) where you can do that chat stuff. "Everything exists, because otherwise nothing would", Bob Marley, 2015.
robhol Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 MTA has a console (F8) where you can do that chat stuff. But that's clunky and not entirely appealing. Besides, prefixing every last message with "say" or "teamsay" is going to be a huge pain in the ass. Super simple stuff.
BLACKHACK Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 I dont think chat cutting, copying, paste, is needed because if its available people will spam !
robhol Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 I dont think chat cutting, copying, paste, is needed because if its available people will spam ! Spamming is already easy. It's not hard to detect by script and deal with accordingly. MTA Team qaisjp Posted July 22, 2012 MTA Team Posted July 22, 2012 Radio won't be added now, it'll interfere with all the other resources that use F5 as a bind etc. All those above have been requested.
