Guest Posted October 4, 2003 Posted October 4, 2003 hey, noticed that the sync of cars is a little choppy. I know you have to do alot of compression to keep things synced without any bandwidth issues. But isn't it possible that the MTA team could remove alot of the compression for a LAN version. Therefore, you could be able to play LAN games, without the skippyness of the cars. Just a thought. I'd like to hear some feedback.
me Posted October 4, 2003 Posted October 4, 2003 (edited) http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?p=40019#40019 If you're too lazy to go through the link (like me), here's what Kent said: the problem isn't really related to the code or latency or anythin for htat matterwe just haven't implemented any prediction models yet... so player positions are only updated every 50ms... thus causing choppy movements.. we are working on ways to get this better, but for now, ped mode is kinda iffy.
