Well,

The Mountain Chilliad mod Was just a test

I downloaded lots of Maps and all doesn't work!

i tried it also Maps witch replace the Normal map!..

it don't work and you don't need to explain me what is .IPL , .IDE and models :D i'm self Modeler!

But eh :/

so it just replace the map and you can't add new maps ?

Oh man... too bad! Something is wrong... what exactly you wan't to import? :B

And i didn't found an option to don't overwrite all map, maybe it's a good idea to a feature :wink:

Hey

Stumbled upon this awesome tool and instantly gave it a try :D but ain't cool for me since I can't get it working, I've tried 3 different 'small' maps:

Models are not visible, I guess it should be "true" instead of "false" and san andreas map is still here.

I've tried to tweak the ini file also, with/out lods etc... but still getting the same result.

Any ideas?

Mark01 - did you remember to:

Start up ColEditorII and list the directory contents of your "res" folder by type

Mark all .col files and drag&drop them into the tool

Select all collision entries, right click on them and extract them as Single Collision Files into your converter "resources" folder

Without extracting collision files you won't see anything (because S2R conventer will not load any files (except LOD maybe)).

I'd suggest starting with a small portion of the VC map - like airport maybe (airport.ide and airport.ipl).

So i tried this, and i tried converting "Gostown6", but it didnt work. Nothing shows up?

I dont know if i did it correctly, but yeah

Downloaded Gostown6 from www.moddb.com

Installed it into a seperate folder

Went into gostown6/models

Extracted gostown6.img into a "res" folder

Took all COL files, and converted them into single collision files

Took all DFF, TXD and COL files and placed them in the "resources" folder

Went into gostown6/maps/gostown6and placed them in the "ipl" folder

Went into gostown6/maps/gostown6/lots and placed those files in the "ipl" folder

Ran the "ipl_mtaconv" file

Took all files in the "output" folder and placed them in a ZIP file

Placed the ZIP file in the servers resource folder

Started the server, and started the script

Start the game, join my own server, DL the script

See nothing?

Yep Ren, that's basically what I did and same thing happened with all of 'em.

I uploaded a random map converted with scene2res, here's the ressource:

Would be great if you could test it and If it doesn't work try to reconvert it with scene2res on your comp so that way I'll be sure that the problem isn't from my pc.

Well. I didn't see any errors.Tho i have a really cr**y computer...

Unpacked the zip file you sent me. Repacked it again so the meta file would not be in subdirectory. Started the resource. Teleported to posX="508.2" posY="-2578.2" posZ="518.4". (It's high in the sky, so You gotta teleport twice)

It works fine.

Do you see anything ? Like the model names - blablabla01 (1,false) ?

Check the gta3.map for the coordinates of where you should teleport. (F1/ Map in freeroam)

Download Marks resource to compare with yours.

When i explored alittle, high up in the air and whatnot, i found SA objects all around. Trees, buildings, roads, and such. wtf is going on? I didnt find any new objects tho.

Gostown is quite big. I mean it is supposed to weight over 200 MB as a resource.

check the directories

resources\your_resource.zip\models\

resources\your_resource.zip\textures\

You might try this:

1.login to your account (in game)

2.type debugscript 3 (if are there any errors)

3.start the resource

4.See the debug output for errors.

5.???

6.PROFIT

i can't come up with any other tips at the moment.

Okay, so i did this, and this is the error i get:

WARNING: engineLoadDFF model id should not be 0 these days ?

That's just a warning... nothing to be concerned. Are there any errors when you run the conventer (like file not found on numerous models, textures ) ?

If i remember correctly, i think i got multiple warnings that files from GTA United was missing <--- dafuq

I dont remember, since it was quite some time since i made the convert...

Since the script that comes out of scene2res is protected and cannot be modified (.luac) is there a way I could prevents scene2res script to reduce draw distance when starting it's ressource ?

It would probably works by creating a separate script but I have no idea how am I supposed to code this.

So i decided to give this another go. I choosed another map mod, Laguna Seca racetrack. I did just like before, and this time, tested around alittle bit. I went into the editor, started the script, the map, and then went into test mode. It said:

INFO: invalid model request 'lagus_1'

INFO: invalid model request 'lagus_2'

INFO: invalid model request 'lagus_3'

INFO: invalid model request 'lagus_4'

INFO: invalid model request 'lagus_5'

Any ideas?

Oh, and i checked under the chat box. It said:

lagus_[1-5] (1, false)

And in the chatbox, it said "name: lagus-5 (3983)

Wth does all this mean?
