Guest Posted September 12, 2003 Posted September 12, 2003 I opened a server and this happens (only to my that friend) +He joins the game, then when i join, his connection times out +I join the game, then he cannot join What is the problem? I have XP and he has win 98, can it be because of that?

me Posted September 12, 2003 Posted September 12, 2003 it's not ENTIRELY incompatible... MTA will work on Windows 98, but less often than with XP. Are you running over a network, or over the internet? If you're running over a network, which one of you is hosting the server?

me Posted September 13, 2003 Posted September 13, 2003 (edited) we are both dial up but we r near so its not a problem, i host the server it may be that dial-up simply isn't able to handle running a server... that's probably the answer to your problem it takes a lot of bandwith to join a server, much less host one.
