Abusive Servers

One day ago when I was at work I was thinking how about if MTA makes a small 'Team' of people that are seriously on computer nearly daily and MTA to make on 1.1 release a 'Panel' on settings that only that small 'Team' can access and a sub-forum and people to abuse a server and the way they abused. Maybe in that 'Panel' to have something like 'Change server name' 'Close server for amount of time' 'Delete Server (Only if its a home host and they are using another server name to redirect to different server)' and some other stuff.

And the panel can be used in this conditions:

Server using other server main script.

Uses other servers tag.

Argues after losing clan-war or something and doesn't want to compit with what was supports to give for losing.

Well I guess some other stuff that servers can abuse. etc...

Wish people wont call me noob for this suggestion.

I didn't understand your suggestion a lot:

No, because the server is as the owner wants, I mean, the owner is the only one that selects who will control the server, if will the server turned off, what will be the server name, etc...

If the server breakes a rule, well, the MTA can contact the owner and tell him "Please don't do this bla bla bla".

A panel for the local server?

Well, I think it's a good idea, you must learn some scripting or pay one... or just browse a scripter interesed on this like me .

Those functions should be put into MTA 1.1 admin panel, but setServerName() isn't in wiki (I don't know if does it work yet), shutdown() just turns off the server till the server owner opens the server again.

No! I hate addicted people, that will cause more and more addicted people everyday, I don't want that lol, should be people that knows C++ or people that knows a lot of GTA:SA programing.

You got me wrong, what I mean is like a 'Admin Panel' for that 'Team' selected. Then to be a 'Abuse Server' sub-forum with application you fill in the form and you abuse it and the member of that 'Team' should do something to that server with the 'Admin Panel' well to do something to the server in the way he abused his server against MTA or other MTA Servers.

Do any other games/mods do this? No, because it is not the responsibility of anybody but the people who run the server. Something like this would just be another thing open to abuse, don't you think? This "team" would never work because they would have conflict of interests and open to persuasison/pressure.

I think the only responsibility anybody not the owner of a server should have is if people used abusive/misleading server names beause server names are seen by everyone and not just the people who join the server. If something is bad on that server then its up to players to choose not to play there.

It seems that lately there has been uproar with the amount of people complaining about different groups of small individuals who do abuse their own power and making everyone else’s fun a complete misery. Though in reality, it is just a common on any other game, regardless of the popularity of the modification/game. All suggestions are welcomed on this board, however as Arran has pointed out, certain people within this “team” might open up to pressure.

If there was a perfect scenario, then maybe servers could be rated somehow by votes or “likes” which could then divide the best and most popular (and fair) servers with those that just cause a nonsense in the community.

Even that suggestion, while better than the current situation, would still be entirely open for exploitation. Any noob who gets banned from a server for a valid reason could retaliate with negative votes on the server, or competing servers could vote each other down - it wouldn't necessarily be a true representation of how good or fair servers are unless everyone plays by the rules. Clearly not everyone plays by the rules or this topic wouldn't need to be discussed in the first place.

It seems these days people are more inclined to whinge about something when they feel they've been hard-done by, than voluntarily complimenting others on their hard work. Thus servers might be more likely to accrue negative votes than positive votes, even if they are, on the whole, a pretty good server.

Would it be possible to elect a group of responsible MTA Dev's/Contributors/large server operators, and have them impartially rate servers?

No way, the owner of the server should administrate everything on the server and nobody should have access to its property unless he gives access to other people. And that server owner should take care of his scripts and should pay attention in giving access to other people. But if you really want to close a server and its urgent, open a ticket on Game Monitor website. Three or four years ago, here in Romania, a guy got some great scripts from a gaming league called Professional Gaming League - Counter-Strike and he posted the scripts on the internet, and a day after, all servers running them were closed and IPs were banned.

Game-Monitor owner(s) have been inactive for almost a year now (GRanks have been broken all this time and I tried reporting it to their IRC months ago and forum but if you go on their forum its just major spam bot fest)

Hey Danny it's very easy you can do it yourself:

  
1. Go to Trollsinstitute of H4Ck1ng 
2. Create a new virus called TLD4 
3. Get the control of all hosting company 
4. Create your GUI and connects all to their functions DD0S(ip),getFTPDATA(IP), etc 
5. Now you are able to control all these abusive servers!! 
  
TIP: Use magnets for faster hacking. 
  

Your idea is the most noob one i even saw on the forums , if a guy open a server is becouse he wants to own and administrate it, not to give another the power to control it, that's the way everything works in this world, you dont like it? then go in some weird cult or go to the space and find trollplanet.

@ Tank07: If they banned you for cheating that doesnt mean its abusive.

@ To all others, well I simply agree with most of you I wouldnt like to get my server controled by other people but there is days when you want other to have access to the other server and make things right if that server is abusing your community for example, VIP was using my sever tag for 5 months I posted on the sever list spam, I have no idea how my post disappeared after a while x86 told me to post again, I did it, I waited 1 week no one done anything about it then I talked to x86 again and he removed my server tag from their name after 2 days they added it back. But its once again removed. What I really mean by that control panel is not to have access to your server scripts and stuff like that, but to have access to edit your server name, and remove fake servers. Sorry my English is a real epic.
