Harmful Link

Hi all,

I pressed the Download button, to download MTA : SA

but suddenly my anti-virus gives me a malware warning from the link !

Problem is that there is nothing to fix. MTA has been flagged as malware multiple times over the years buit they haver always been false positives.

Could you tell me where the links in the warning go to?

One more thing man, I really love MTA It's like the most coolest mod in the world.

Just do rightclick on "here" text, and select "Copy target address" or something like that.

Changing link WON'T help, as MTA is not malware, but some antivirus software is doing false-positive on MTA, because of way how MTA is working (modyfing GTA memory to achieve multiplayer)

hmm, i see the problem, webguard won't let him access the file what so ever, he needs another mirror to download from.

Couldn't it be provided in a zip file, or wouldn't that help?

Also maybe a warning to people downloading like "Your antivirus protection may detect MTA as a virus but don't worry its not, thousands of people play MTA every day."

Strange, avira antivir does not see it as a virus while avira webguard blocks the download:

It's ok mate, I downloaded MTA:SA.

But there is a tiny little problem. IN MTA : SA it gives me an update notification.

When i press yes to update it goes from 0% and stops at 20%, then it goes from 0% again and stops at 20%/30%

Only 0.5 is flagged since it is UPX packed, no other 0.x version is

not true, i uploaded 104 to virustotal.com and some scanners do see it as a threat, including mcaffee.

0.5 and its variants are still flagged as false positives.

I haven't gotten them to show up on any of my comps with the latest Avast and all settings on high, and other users have reported similar events. Not sure what to say there.

That's odd. I wonder why that mirror is considered malware now...

Edit: I'll host a temporary mirror. Don't link people to it or use it as the primary though. It's self-hosted and I'm in the middle of switching internet companies, so it's a bit slow for the time being.

That avira was the web guard, well I have Avira, but the web guard is premium, so I might not be able to notice that.

I can download the file because I have the free version of it.
