I'm having a problem, but I don't think it's with MTA:VC, so I was wondering if someone could help me or tell me what the hell is going on.

Sometimes when I open Vice City up, I get in a car, and here's what happens. The car starts off going really slow, and the back end bounces up and down. Meanwhile the car isn't making any sound what so ever, when you should be hearing the shifting and such. When you get going fast enough, the back end stops bouncing, and then the sound starts, but it's already in the top gear so the sound get's really high and you can't go any faster. This makes things slower and it's kind of messed up. If anyone has had this problem or knows how to fix it, any help would be greatly appreciated. This is something I really want to clear up.

Peace.

sounds to me like you got into a car already occupied by someone who was alt-tabbed out of thegame or very lagged/timing out. Try getting an empty car :)

try reinstalling Vice City, if you got serious problems with this.. and if you could make a video, could be nice.

Use Fraps 2.0 if you want sound

I don't want sound, it's just that sound is a problem with it, and I don't have the money for FRAPS :P

But I'll make a short video of it.

LOL, it's under 1 MB..good for a video, doesn't look great but I don't care. Download still takes like 2 and a half minutes though..it's what you get with free hosts.

NOTE: In the movie, the car is silent until it drives smoothly, and at that point it's already in the top gear sound and won't shift again. Moves slower than if it works correctly.

weird problem, but can i ask what your specs are because your game looks like its running really smooth like 80fps+ that must be nice. i get around 30 on 2ghz 512 ram geforce4ti4400

Well I'm running an AMD Athlon XP 1600+ 1.4Ghz processor with 256 MB DDR RAM, got a Nvidia GeForce 2 MX400 64MB Graphics card and a 30GB 7200RPM Hard drive. I'd tell you my FPS if I could find out what it was, dunno how.

Runs pretty smooth, runs better on MTA than Single Player.

I'm on a 640x480x16 res though, so it doesn't look too nice.

That's very odd, I have no idea what to tell you. Something with your computer maybe.. you have a 7200RPM drive right? And you're running GTA: VC 1.1 correct?
