Vercetti1010 Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Hey, I just set up MTA for a friend of mine. It runs perfect EXCEPT that his FPS is 200+. So he runs faster than a car goes in a second. How do I fix this. I don't want him banned from servers because it looks like speed hacks. Also note that FPS limit is ON. Plus for some reason, his FPS output says 2.1 FPS, but that is obviously wrong.
Mr.Hankey Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 That's a common problem with dual core amd cpu's. Tell him to install AMD's Core Optimizer and it should run normal again.
Vercetti1010 Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 Its an Intel Pentium 4. I think the problem may have to do with his PC though. It gives out bad readings, like, saying his core clock is over 4 GHz, even though the computer is not burning up. I don't know. Is that a problem with Pentium 4's too? I wouldn't think so, since I have a Pentium 4 as well.
MTA Team jhxp Posted November 26, 2008 MTA Team Posted November 26, 2008 Maybe he has some d3d9.dll in his gtasa folder, which acts like a speedhack (or any d3d9 in fact, which might conflict with mtasa) - if he does, tell him to delete it and see if it fixes the problem.

While i complain for having low fps in mta you are complaining for having high fps its funny though, does higher FPS make you faster than you should? cause thats weird

In singleplayer, it's REALLY weird. You see cars crashing into eachother instead of parking after eachother. You run about 3-4 times as fast. (same counts for turning and driving. REALLY ANNOYING) and trafic lights almost seem to just flash. You don't want to have this in singleplayer, although it looks kinda cool on first sight.
