me
does it crash when you start launcher.exe, or when you click on one of the buttons in the launcher? Link to comment
Trust
when i push one of the buttons (MP), all i get is a white screen and the windows icon (the one which appears when you have to wait) Link to comment
me
hmm... have you tried running mta.exe on it's own, or GTA3 on it's own (w/o the launcher)? Link to comment
Trust
i can start gta3 on its own, but it is the launcher that gets stuck when i try it. btw, in the start menu, does there have to appear something like multiplayer or server connect or something??? Link to comment
me
hmm... when you start GTA3 on it's own, does the 'start game' submenu say something like 'start new MTA game'? if it does say 'start new MTA game', just start MTA without the launcher. You can do this by running C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA3\mta.exe then run GTA3 Link to comment
Trust
now, i reinstalled it in the correct folder now , and it appears in my start menu, but when i open a server in ase, i get runtime-error 126 Link to comment

Trust
now, it's even worse, when i try to connect with a server where someone is already playing, i get a fatal bluescreen error, and i have to turn off my computer, and yes, i have win98 P.S. when is mta4 coming out, i hope soon, because i desperatly want to play Link to comment
Trust
now i connected to a server where nobody was online, just shooting around a bit to the roof of the "clones" and suddenly "mta has begun" appeared on top of my screen and a saw one of the green dots moving on my radar, but when i checked it out, it was just someone running all the way down and then got stuck because there was a building and he couldn't go round... what is this shit?? me
well, some of your errors will be fixed (well... I think just the 126 one) by downloading the win 98 patch.. it's in the downloads section. hmm... what you're saying sounds exactly like you're getting disconnected before the game even starts (unfortunately, MTA doesn't notify you properly when you've been disconnected... it'll be in 0.35 I'm told)... alt-tab to MTA, and check the data transfer rate... if it's not changing, then you're probably disconnected. hit disconnect, connect, and send game request... then disconnect, connect, and send game request. (and yes, I meant to say that 2 times) alt-tab back to GTA3, and see if it's going properly. if it isn't, then check the message you get when you connect to a server... Hopefully, messages like this will pop up: Welcome to MTA Version 0.3 (Build 5291127-G) Connecting to server Waiting for request Assigned ID: 1 Gametype: DM Connection found, ping received If only something like this pops up: Welcome to MTA Version 0.3 (Build 5291127-G) Connecting to server Waiting for request then try a different server. and if you can't get it to work then... well, I'm out of ideas.
