CriticalXED Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 quote from another topic Try running it in compatibility mode. Try BOTH win 98, and win 2000, we've had 98 work for some, and 2000 for others. right click icon->compatibility tab to do that, if you didn't know.

CriticalXED Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Sorry, but then i really don't know. Look at other topics in this forum. maybe then u'll find solution for that

DazzaJay Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Reinstall DM, make sure you "Create an account" in the installer. than it will work.
ChrML Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Yeah, try what the DazzaJay says. We're not sure what causes this at the moment. Details about the problem or if you figure out a way to get it work and write it here will help us solving the problem.

50p Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Hi, I've got smilar problem... It worked well yesterday but I unistalled it to play Race Mod, but today wanted to play DM again and while I'm trying to run it... I will ask your first question here: YES I reinstalled it 57348957839 times and tried to install with/without account, one time it removed my whole GTA SA folder Yeah, I woudn't prefer to install it in GTA folder since it removes everything that it is installed in. Even if you install it in your photos folder all the photos will be removed! Now I can't find my DVD with the game and I can't even try to install MTA since I don't have my GTA installed!
DazzaJay Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Now I can't find my DVD with the game and I can't even try to install MTA since I don't have my GTA installed! just do what i did and go down to Tunz-a-Gamez and hire GTASA, then install it, and take the disc back. Total Cost... $3
50p Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 It is not so expensive now, I'm gonna buy a used one. But I have no idea when that will happen I am not going to buy game and wait untill full MTA release, since there is no fix for the Serial No., yet.
DazzaJay Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 from what i have seen, the serial number is a requirement, as servers can now ban people by thier serial number. which if you ask me is much better than an ip or name ban, as ip's and names can be changed, serial you would need to reinstall dm and reregister a new account, and even then theres the possibility of it not changing.
