Dramacyde Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Is obviously a scripting language... My question is, why is it better?
0 Strepto Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Better than what exactly? We haven't been able to script in any MTA version afaik.
0 kevuwk Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 if you mean better than the mtama scripting its because mtama was connecting to the server as an admin and wasn't designed by the team so always had limitations to what it could do whereas lua is built into the server so can control the game a lot more, other than that it is more powerful than mIRC scripts
0 DarkGX Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Actually I meant why is LUA better then PAWN?
0 lil Toady Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Well you don't need any 3rd party programs to script in lua, you don't need to compile it and it's very simple. Also in MTA case it has a way more scripting functions to control the game. But uh, that's MTA! You will be able to load a pawn interpriter module and run pawn scripts. Less abbilities though
0 kevuwk Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 by the looks of things i think lua and pawn are pretty much evenly matched, but as lil_Toady says, you don't need to compile the script everytime you make a change and you can just use notepad to edit in (notepad++ is better though), other than that we may have more functions in MTA but that is because we created them not because we are using lua and not pawn
0 DarkGX Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Oh, I was only asking because some one said that SA:MP sucks because it uses pawn and you guys are using LUA...
0 kevuwk Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 everyone has their opinion, people will be saying the same about MTA with lua
0 darkdreamingdan Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 We arent here to compare sa-mp and MTA. Sorry
