Convirion
Hello, I set up a server on a Pentium 3 machine with only 64MB. it uses Windows and i don't know for sure what the best is. for as far as i know there aren't requiments to run the server. I put the max players on 10 and it looked good until now. my first question: does somebody has server requiments? my second question: what is the best on a Pentium 3 for mta? I know its not a great one but still greatings, Convirion Link to comment
Jani
Which version of Windows? If it's XP or Server 2003, I doubt the machine could even run that, let alone an MTA server. Link to comment
rockstarrem
A Pentium 3 may be fine, but 64 MB ram kills it. Link to comment
Jani
Yes, I've seen Windows XP running on a Pentium 2 before, but the recommended amount of memory is 256MB. Link to comment
Convirion
It runs windows xp and a mta server runs fine too, thats not the problem. about 2 months i get an upgrate to an via proc with 256MB memory so it could run better then. Maybe I'm gonna run Ubuntu on it but im not sure of that becose i have some other things to run that required windows. Link to comment
Jani
Ubuntu is not a server OS, get Debian instead. Link to comment
Convirion
I runned the Ubuntu server install and the debian server install on my system, and the problem was that debian didn't startup on my system and ubuntu did. Link to comment
